I see a lot of arguments against legalizing gay marriage, against teaching evolution in schools, and in favor of shortening pi to '3' because it will confuse children.

Since you think I'm making it up, I'll quote a poster from a few minutes ago in one of my gay marriage threads:

"I don't want my grandchildren to grow up in a society thinking this is proper. Isn't life confusing enough?"

My question is: Do you Christians think children are stupid? I've never found a child who didn't understand gay marriage once it was explained. Also, I thought Jesus told you the only way to get into heaven was to have faith like a child? Wouldn't that mean that children are smarter than adults? In that case, wouldn't it mean that it's better to teach evolution and gay marriage and pi to kids WHILE they're kids, before they become stupid adults?

I'm all confused.

" You, athiests, ask for God to show Himself when you know you really don't want that prayer answered. If God ever did show himself to your cold, sinful heart you would shake and become like dead men.But thank God, for your sake, God is in the business of sparing mens' lives not taking them." -Pastor

How have you learnt how to love? What do you base your love on and has it changed you as a person? How does love affect you or help you? Does it come from your beliefs and if so what you believe? How has love touched you and others around you? Do you believe that love can make a difference and if so how has it made a difference in your life as well as the lives of others?

The story of Eve in paradise is outrageous! Why did God put the tree of knowledge right in front of her and then forbid her to eat from it?

I find the oxymoronic people in this section amusing.....You know, the ones who answer questions having to do with God's gender. Some people believe its a she, some believe its a he. Some believe it doesn't have a gender. But I find the oxymorons funny, when they say, "God does not have a gender. HE is a deity, not human." .....or something of that nature. Think, people, THINK!
Okay, so as to not make this a rant.....my question is.
Do you think Yahoo Answers should have some sort of IQ test before you're allowed to post anything in this forum? Nothing too complicated....just to weed a few out.

Some say they are more racist here cause they want to integrate into America and they think that to fully integrate they have to hate all blacks no matter what and that even socializing with blacks frowned apon.

Then they said that they are more racist in there own country cause of stereotypes of blacks people being played on tv. (WTF?) And there cultures tells them to hate darkskin and to hate anything african.

I am not talking about arabs or asian indians cause I know what the deal is with them.

I am talking about Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thailandese, Vietnamese, Phillipino, Hawiian ect.

I mean, anything is possible if you're religious, and think that God could have chosen to make Jesus born any color, but if you don't believe in that stuff like I do, it seems most obvious that Jesus would have been a darker like the people of the region. Then again, it's also widely believed (partly by myself, though who can be sure), that Mary was actually raped by Roman soldiers, and if this were the case, a white Jesus is not unplausable.

And please, folks, "The Bible Says" is not an answer... we're supposed to have something called religious freedom in this nation where ministers are being jailed for performing gay marriages. Nor is "It's a slippery slope..."... if Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Marilyn Musgrave et al were legitimately concerned about polygamy and men demanding the right to marry their TV sets, they'd pass an amendment saying "marriage shall be limited to two consenting unrelated adults"- period. Just get beyond the silly and irrelevant "ideal family" rhetoric and to the heart of the matter... how would this affect YOU, YOUR family, and YOUR right to practice your religion? I'm curious, because the only thing I can come up with is that might cost hetero couples a couple bucks a year to extend the same access to health care, social security, tax breaks, and legal and financial protection in the event of a tragedy that they currently enjoy to hundreds of thousands of families- many with children.

I understand all the stuff about changing the holy day of the week from the 7th to the 1st day of the week - but I've yet to find anything that says what day of the week that number should be. Why isn't the first day of the week a Tuesday or a Friday, for example? A Bible reference that actually states days rather than numbers would be useful. Thx.

Mohammed married his last wife Ayisha when she was six years old, he consummated this when she was 9. he said he could do this because he was specially chosen by Allah.
Today the age of consent in Iran is 9 because of this, many Muslims follow Mohammed example and take underage girls (children) as wives.
In addition sexual abuse of young boys is widespread in Afghanistan and Pakistani (I only cite these because there is so much evidence and I don’t want to be accused of hearsay).
Why do we hear a deafening silence about this child abuse in Islam. We are quick (and rightly so) to condemn any Christian church which harbours this kind of child abuse. When are we going to start condemning thes practces in Islam.

Just Google Mohammed and Ayisha, you can read her account of her first sexual encounter with Mohammed in her own words.

Matthew 21

1As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
