because i realized that i needed God and that nothing else really mattered. You have that huge gap in you and i finally realized what it is...read John 3:16 or the book of Luke to get started.

I am saved! Praise the LORD! Honestly Jesus just seems so real to me. That is probably my reason. When I was a child my first words out of my mouth when greeting people was, "Hi, my name is David. Would you like to know my friend Jesus?" Somewhat strange I suppose but at any rate I found and still find that the spiritual realm is as real as the physical realm we live in. If not more...
So that is why I am saved. Jesus is a REAL friend to me. And so much more. The whole "golden ticket to heaven" thing is really rubbish in my opinion. I just like talking with Jesus. I like the relationship factor. And the fact that it all makes life seem so much more reasonable and less complicated.
Well, that is just a few reasons why. There are many.

I was living the best life I could and still felt I needed something. In the midst of the congregation singing praises to thier Lord, I said in prayer, "God, are you really there"?
Suddenly I felt a surge of adrenaline and tears came. It was like losing a loved one and them coming back. I had realize at the moment how real God really was.
I now live a tougher life than I ever have, but it's fulfilled. I don't live for my worldly needs, but to fulfill His will in my life.
Thanks for asking!

I'm saved too, from ignorance. My mother couldn't bear the thought of me becoming an idiot.

Jesus is the judge of those who are saved.
If you were to ask those quoted below if they were saved they would have answered YES.
Matt 7:21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
Paul said Phil 3:12 Not that I have already received it or am already made perfect, but I am pursuing to see if I may also lay hold on that for which I have also been laid hold on by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having laid hold on [it]; but there is one thing about it: Forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things ahead, 14 I am pursuing down toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God by means of Christ Jesus.
Did you notice Paul said "Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having laid hold on [it];"
and "I am pursuing down toward the goal for the prize "
Salvation of mankind is guaranteed, our salvation depends on how Jesus judges us, and not ourselves.

Not yet; I will not be saved until the end of either my life or of this ungodly system of things.
