Tell me about stonehenge. I'm sure there are a lot of ideas out there about them but what do you think they are for? What I know about them is that they are ancient structures but science can't really come up with a solid answer.

I figured why not ask the ones who probably have a good spiritual idea about them.

I'm writing a paper for my debate class and would like to have more than one view. I have my own reasons for one side, but I am trying to keep an open mind. Please be serious. This is for a grade and I would like to have honest answers.

I know Christianity doesn't really condemn it, but that most of the followers of it do, so I want nothing to do with them. Are there any that just accept people for who they are?

I asked a question about evolution and several Christians politely pointed out that evolution contradicts the Biblical account of creation, which I do believe is true. A lot of you said, basically, "The Bible is true, so if science says otherwise, then science is wrong." I respect that, even if I don't agree with it.

{It was also mentioned that without the fall of Adam and Eve, Jesus' death was not necessary. I reject this argument because humans are "sinful" (as sin is defined in the Bible) regardless of what our ancestors did, so our need for salvation would not disappear if Adam and Eve hadn't existed. (No, I'm not a Christian, but I used to be one.)}

My question is this: If the creation story is "true" (i.e. literal and correct and not a parable for the human condition), why does science have so much evidence for an old earth and evolution? Did God put the evidence there to test our faith or are all the scientists wrong?

Theres tons of theology and almost infinite theories on the internet, but few things that shows that God is alive and lives?! God is so real to me, and His presence always comes like a covering. And I see Him in the workings of everything in my life. But why don't other people see it? How do I show them that He is real?

It all happened when I went vacation to Thailand this new year eve - there I met this Russian girl Sveta and spent the best moments of my life with her - too bad, she is a hooker and that too has been trafficked from her native Uzbekistan by Bangkok underworld - she told me that she can secure release and she has her own passport if somebody gives her $4000 -

My only concern is HIV/AIDS - of course, she was a well-heeled prostitute and Bangkok is full of whores and many are safe - and I always used CONDOM with her. But, she was innocent I guess - I mean my wallet with money was always there but she never touch those things - she seems to be a GENUINE person.

I am not rich but is it worth taking another trip to go and secure her release - being a hooker doesn't change her as a person I guess - most Russian girls don't choose this trade on their own will.

Should I contact the Embassy of Uzbekistan? Will they help me out in such a case?

I"ve been seeing this for the past few days. "Is it haram to do this," and "Is it haram to do that?" I always thought a haram was a group of girls/boys/both used for sexual pleasure. So, theses questions don't make any sense.

What are they trying to ask when they say, "Is it haram?"

(Disclaimer: I realize that not ALL Christians disbelieve in evolution. I'm generalizing, yes, because I didn't want a super-long question title. I apologize for any insensitivity on my part.)

I was raised a Christian by Christian parents. I was sent to private Christian schools and instructed from Christian texts. I went to church regularly, and truth be told, I rarely met or spoke to anyone who wasn't a Christian. I even went to a Christian college when I got my first degree.

When I got out of college, I thought evolution was total bunk because, well, I'd been taught that it was. It wasn't until someone sat me down and showed me some good websites and even better books that I realized that the arguments I'd been provided with were not logical. All the stuff I'd heard about watchmakers and thermodynamics had been misued to try to disprove something. I was also shocked to find that there are thousands of transitional fossils - something I'd been blatantly lied to about.

Do those who have religious experiences understand that I do not doubt that your experiences were absolutely real and that many people have them.

Where we part company is that I think that they are not as a result of the supernatural but of the very real world in which we live, that although they may be powerful to you there is no external reality to which they correspond.

Therefore stories of unevidenced religious experiences no matter how convincing to you will not persuade me that a god, or ghosts for that matter, exists.
