Who has the best national anthem. Could it be the English with "God save the queen" or is it Scotland with " Flower of Scotland"

the so called british national anthem is very very english, its was composed for the battle of culloden in which the scots were defeated, the tune is the same, they just changed the words. flower of scotland is so the best.

God Save The Queen is such a dirge of an anthem, dull and boring. There arent many that are worse. I wish something else was sung instead. I'm afraid Flower of Scotland is much better. Besides, God Save the Queen isnt an english anthem it's a British anthem. England need to settle on a new one. What about Land of Hope and Glory?

Definitely Scotland's Flower of Scotland. It has a really nice tune. But the lyrics are very nationalistic. God save the Queen is not the english anthem, its the British one, which includes Scotland. I think Jerusalem should be our national anthem - its a fab tune.

Thought god save the queen is officially the British national anthem,Flower of Scotland is a cracker to sing along to,and always gets me in the mood when watching the rugby internationals.

I'd say Flower of Scotland - I could be biased being Scottish - but it's a much more passionate sounding song.
Asked my (English) hubbie what he thought and he also goes with Flower of Scotland. Not because he likes the song, but because he thinks Qod Save Our Queen is rubbish.
I think the English folk deserve a song that's theirs - not British. It's only fair.

The UK national anthem is "God save the Queen" - total rubbish and such a dirge, possibly the worse anthem ever. Scotland's is Okay but not great, England's own anthem is "Land of Hope and Glory" which is also Okay but not as good as Scotland's

I personally like the Canadian national anthem- very nice song. But if I must choose between those 2 (I've never heard flower of scotland) I'd go with........ scotland- prettier name.
