For a little while, my church had a young priest who was really, really good. He was a very dynamic speaker. But he got shipped off to another parish to work with the youth ministry there, and now we've got an older priest who is, unfortunately, seriously dull. It's a fight to stay awake when he's preaching.

And I don't believe a lot of what he's preaching (since I'm Roman Catholic), but Jesse Duplantis used to be kind of fun to watch on TV sometimes.

...Dr J. Vernon McGee was an excellent Bible teacher who was deeply committed to Jesus and he is now in Heaven. He was a pastor for many years and after he retired he did a radio program for many years called "Through the Bible", a 5-year study through God's Word. He had a southern drawl and a real wit. Though he is no longer with us, tapes are played of this Bible teaching. Here's a sample:
...Dr. McGee was teaching about Balaam's donkey talking. He remarked that in Balaam's day it was a miracle if a jackass spoke; he went on to say that today it's a miracle if one keeps quiet!

About 2 year back we went to this church, I bit small but nice, they had a nice priest about 60 yrs, old. Very nice environment. When they would sing, they would put on a screen where they had the lyrics, that way everyone could join in. The priest was very charismatic, he would even tell jokes (appropriate, of course). I liked that church, haven't gone back, though.

Many go to church to listen to jokes.
Many change church if the pastor preaches more than 20 minutes.
Many go to church to gossip.
Many go to church to look holy, or be a leader (church leaders are given much respect) although they have no Bible knowledge to hold that responsibility.
Many go to church for great music.
Many go to church to find mates (Christians preferred for faithfulness - but some are not).
Many go to church to gossip.
Many think they can accumulate good deeds ( like Buddhist karma). They think taking Communion gives salvation again and again ( but the bible says we are saved once and for always by receiving Christ as our Savior).

Why do you go to Church? The bible said the family of God meet together to encourage each other and also go forward to preach to the unheard - the Gospel of Salvation by Grace.

Hands down Creflo Dollar. He's so pathetic that it's comedic. Anyone with half an optic fiber can see straight through him.
