Tell me about stonehenge. I'm sure there are a lot of ideas out there about them but what do you think they are for? What I know about them is that they are ancient structures but science can't really come up with a solid answer.

I figured why not ask the ones who probably have a good spiritual idea about them.

They were used as calendars, for one.

Stonehenge also was used for directions.

They were also used to mark the Solstices. In fact, they did rituals at Stonehenge during the Solstices, and I heard in Ireland they still do, at times.

This is just my thought on Stonehenge....

I do believe that Solstice rituals were held at Stonehenge. These rituals could have included several differnent things over the years. Certain areas of the Earth have strong energies and spiritual pull, Stongehenge being one of them. Some how all of those many years ago they knew that on that spot with stones in a certain alignment would do certain things at different times of the year.

I know that I feel a strong pull to them. I believe in reincarnation (I know some of you don't, which is fine). I believe that I have been to stonehenge in a past life. I have never been in this lifetime though. :(

Not a pagan, but it was a time device. The stones were mined from a quarry, rolled to the site on logs, and set up with man-power and rope. There is a temple in Mexico that has the same principle. On each equinox and solstice, the sun will shine through a certain window in the temple, much like how it rises/sets in alignment with certain stones in stonehenge.

Stonehenge is a giant sundial of sorts, it was used to mark the passing of time, but times of the day and times of the year. For example, the solstices and equinoxes.
