For example, some of my college professors have been pretty good-looking and down-to-earth people, and while I have had some Indian/Arab ones, they hardly get the respect that other teachers.

Do you think looks have anything to do with confidence and how people perceive you? For example, could you see a guy who wears "gangster" clothing becoming a college professor? A doctor?

please keep comments about religion being a convenient excuse for war over land, power and resources to yourself. if the crusades and the inquisition were about anything besides religion, then so is islamic terrorism.

If you post a question, and get mad at people for not knowing the answer and start calling them dumb. Since you posted the question that means you are equally as dumb. right?

What do you think?

By the way Yahoo! deleted this same question just because Instead of "Dumb" I used "Stu-pi_d"

(typing fast, please excuse gram/spelling) I am reading Gen 9-12 and I am confused. The record of geneology are great BUT.........

OK so there is Canaan the Nation and Canaan the son of HAM (Noah's Grandson). Noah (after he wakes up from his drunken stupor curses Canaan, is this the city or his Grandchild. Then Abram travels to Haran. (Abrams brothers name) But Haran the person dies in the Ur. CONFUSING!!!!!

When I am reading the bible how do I tell if we are talking about a nation, a place or a person? Also In Gen 11:29 Nahor married his niece (Haran's Daughter. Why, by this time there wer so many others. Was it because it was normal to stay in "tribes".

My wife's friend is coming to tea and she's a muslim. Our water supply has been cut off due to an islamic suicide bomber blowing himself up next to the water main. Therefore I can't offer her water to drink, and all I have left to offer her to drink is pure alcohol. Do you think she will know the difference? Do you think i can get away with it?

do not "all of the above" systems of religion swear allegiance to the book those of this world call the "bible"?

now, in a "democracy" the majority rules, is that not correct?

and in their "bible" book isn't there Testimony given that declares "strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads unto Life and FEW there be who find it"? and Testimony is also given of the "little flock" who would enter into The Heavenly Kingdom.

and further Testimony declares, "seek to enter in at the strait gate, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and MANY there be who follow that way" ;-(

The Testimonies are Truth! why then would the systems of religion mentioned in the question embrace "democracy"?

quite clear the their "bible" testifies of the MANY(MAJORITY) who follow the "broad way to destruction" and the FEW(MINORITY) who follow The Messiah on "The Way to The Truth of The Life".

should not "democracy" rather be called "dem'on'ocracy"?

Revised 11/2006
CONSTITUTION OF BERWYN BAPTIST CHURCH
CHURCH COVENANT
I, having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the
profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do
now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one
body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of
this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship,
ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of
the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our
kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements,
and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale and use
of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and from nonmedicinal narcotics; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the
kingdom of our Savior.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in
sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take
offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Saviour to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church
where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.

Its sort of a pantheistic religion that draws on ideas from a wide variety of religions. It is based in more of a subjective philosophy (ideas are more "real" than physical objects). How should I make it popular? I don't want to lie and pretend to be some sort of divine being or prophet. Should I write down all the teachings of my religion and form some sort of holy book? Wasn't scientology invented by a physicist? I'm a physicist too, so maybe that will work in my favor. :D

Pretentious? Annoying? hypocritical? and considering their state and status do they completely negate their own attempts at helping anything just by being themselves?

Like Bono... asking what we can do to end poverty while he has someone send for his lucky hat via private jet, so that he can perform at a concert? I mean... what in lieu of any kind of known reality, is that? How can he or any of them ever expect anyone to relate considering?
