The police are not responsible for clean up of your house if a murder, suicide, etc. occurs. There are actually companies that specialize in crime scene clean up, getting blood out of carpet, brain matter out of tiles, and so on.

I just read a book called The Innocent man by John Grisham, and it detailed an Aunt having to clean her neices apartment after she was raped and murdered in a terrible struggle. It was awful to read as its a true story. Her mother was so much of a wreck that her aunt had to do it. The forensics had been in and there was no attempt to make it a little less daunting at all. Her imprint was still on the floor etc.
It must be heart wrenching if its family.

Well I don't know anything about England or Scotland or even what the deal is with that here in the US but I strongly think that crime scene cleaning should be free for murder victims. but maybe not suicide.

YES this does happen if the victim is a home owner and the family cant afford cleaners and the victim was not insured you have to do it yourself.
There is no responcibility taken by any officials reguarding crime scenes in scotland.
This shouldn't happen but it does! so thats why I am taking my issues to scotish parliment I suggest if you have had a similar experiance to do the same.

That's a very morbid question for those of us who have actually experienced this. I'm sorry, but I won't indulge your morbid curiosity.
Suffice to say that it is the most horrific thing you can imagine! Family members of murder victims loved the victims! Imagine cleaning your child's brains off the wall and then try asking questions that don't hurt others!
