in a homeless shelter or soup kitchen in detroit? I've e-mailed the capuchin soup kitchen a few times with no response. I have time on my hands and I have a big heart that I want to put to good use. I'm not afraid to get down and dirty. Serious answers only please!

That the remotes are just out of reach and you watch whatever is on the tv rather then go get them, ive done it not proud of it but have.

I am Mormon, and baptized in the Mormon church.
I had such a strong testimony, but now it has changed. Maybe party because I just moved across the country, and my friends aren't there to make me WANT to go to church. But, don't you think if I really believed in it, it wouldn't matter who was there? I just don't know what I am feeling. There are a lot of things that I disagree with in the church. I don't know what to do.
I guess my questions are:
Is this normal, to start doubting?
Do I tell my parents that I don't believe anymore?
I don't know what to do.
Should I be feeling this way? I know that there was a time when I KNEW in my HEART that it was true, but I don't feel that way anymore.

Why do the gods of the mainstream religions need to threaten people with damnation? I'm not talking about free will; I'm talking about why a god would have an oddly human-like need to be worshipped.

A while ago me and a couple of my friends where hanging out on another friends backporch. Her Aunt had came out to talk to us. we started playing this game "what are you mixed with" (stupid game if you ask me). It all started because one of my friends, friends had came over and the aunt was like " wow, your really pretty. wat are you mixed with?" then she went around the group asking everybody else what they were mixed with, most of the group were mixed with black and something else and light skinned, including me. except for my two closes friends, who when asked lied and said there were black and latina. Which you could tell they weren't. Then she got to me and said "what are you, black?" Like I was the ugliest of the bunch, like I was too ugly to be mixed, it was like she was saying full black people weren't pretty. When she was full black her self!
can some explain why this women would say something like this? I have low selfesteem so it really hurt me, I cried when I got home!

Ok, I must state that I am quite ignorant on the matter but I was just wondering about something. Correct me if I am wrong pls and enlighten me.
According to what I was told the Old Testament was what was said by prophets before Jesus' arrival. When Jesus came to earth he guided people, and his teachings made the New Testament (I hope this is right, I really dont know).
If this is the case, why are there so many Christians reffering to the OT and using its verses??

Ok so heres the story-

June 2006 - Sat. morning walk to car to get in for work and discover writing in pink lipstick all over the window, a heart drawn with an arrow through and my live in boyfriend of 5 years initials.

Nasty emails off and on throughout the rest of 2006..on myspace and no way to track them.

Dec. 31st/Jan. 1st- tires are slit on my new car so perfectly that they werent flat when i got in it, but blew out dangerously when i drove it. police took note of this and i told them about prior incidents.

Jan 2nd- hear a car door slam at 1:30 in the morning, so i run outside and see nothing, check my backup car (the one with slit tires is in the shop being safety checked), and now there another heart in lipstick all over the window.

Jan 3rd- boyfriend car gets a heart drawn on it in lipstick.

Cant figure out who it is, nobodys seen nothing, no tracks, no nothing. took pictures of everything and police wrote down incident with slashed tires.

What can i do?

Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) youth chief Salahuddin Ayub told The Straits Times that the party believes the situation is "very serious" and puts the number at more than 250,000.

The claim cannot be verified but last month, the Mufti of Perak, Harussani Zakaria, a government- appointed religious leader, also quoted the same figure.

An official from the federal Islamic religious department, when contacted, said it could be based on applications to the registration department for a name change in identity cards.

A name change is sometimes perceived as a step towards conversion.
