I have heard that according to the Quran, a suicide bomber/killer are martyrs. What about just suicide?

Would a follower of the quran still get to "heaven" by slitting his wrist or hanging himself? What about a suicide bomber that ONLY kills himself?

As I said above, this is based on what I have HEARD. I understand that common Catholic belief is that suicide and killing another are sins. I also found this: The Prophet said, "He who commits suicide by throttling shall keep on throttling himself in the Hell Fire (forever) and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hell-Fire." (Sahih Bukhari 2.446, 2.445)

No only extremists say this, and God will judge those who have already perished. Its funny how they (the Radical Criminal Terrorists) will say hey you get all these beautiful things in the afterlife to the poor, desperate Muslim meanwhile they themselves do not do it. The Islam Scholars have issued religious verdicts that the terrorists are criminals.

No, that is false. Can you cite a verse which supports your claim? I've only read the Quran in translation, but I didn't see anything even remotely similar to what you claim in there. Murder is always a sin, and sinners go to hell. Suicide is also a sin.

If the 3000 Americans who suicided in Iraq for President Bush had stayed at home and cut their wrists would their coffins be draped with the Star Spangled Banner for burial?

Are the retrurned disabled soldiers from Iraq American heroes or added burdens on the US Treasury or are they the unlucky who failed to suicide?

Leviathan is right, religions that become to fanatical and self destructive tend to die out, look at budhism, is been around for the last 4000 yrs, they survive not by killing those that are different and not by forcing themselves onto others. i just wish all muslims would quickly get it over with and self destruct allready
