I think so. Most people would really only go so far as legalizing pot. I don't think that will be enough. Our prisons aren't stuffed to the gills with stoners - the drug trade is fueled by much harder stuff. If this country really wanted to stop all the violence associated with the drug trade, we'd have to step up and decriminalize stuff like coke, crack, heroin, meth, etc. I don't think we have the gonads for it.

Too bad, IMO - it would be nice if we didn't have to spend so many resources fighting drug trade when we could spend them on fighting terrorism. It would be great if instead of overburdening our prisons due to the drug trade, we could have some extra space in there and use it to keep child molestors locked away for life, instead of the paltry sentences they currently get.

Taking a look at the struggle that China had with opium might give you some insight as to what could happen with a very addictive drug that was not regulated or illegalized in any way.

http://www.illwillpress.com/vault.html check out the one called 'drugs in ur head' for one side of the argument in comic.
but it makes sense to a point, but some are harmful, so should we let them be allowed knowing they can cause damage?
but because they are illegal a whole lot of problems do occur including crime to pay off drug bills coz they are illegal.
crime rate will drop.
