When I leave Japanese sushi bars, the sushi chef's always say their goodbyes in japanese, but it sounds more like "See you in da showa"
Anyone ever heard this?
What exactly are they saying?

My best friend keeps doing things that's making me rather confused!

She keeps making jokes that we are in a lesbian relationship and jokingly strokes my legs and arms, pinches my bum and stuff. She has said stuff to me like she loves me and that she thinks I'm hot and if she were a guy or a lesbian she'd go out with me.

I stayed over at her place and she cuddled me in the bed by hooking her leg over my waist and placing her arm over my stomach. We've also been out together on nights out and she's had her arms round my waist. I have caught her staring into my eyes on occasions.

She does have a boyfriend but doesn't seem very happy with him.She does comment on how hot guys are as well as girls but says that she's not gay at all. But her signals are quite confusing!

This doesn't really bother me, I just want an idea as to what is happening in her head.

Anyone got any suggestions here? Is she possibly bi? What do you think

Religious stories like CREATION and the medieval description of a geocentric universe with stars affixed to the outer shell beyond which heaven lies; these are 2 obvious examples. But people place thier faith in the outcome of a future event or a person's endeavors - neither of which have known outcomes. So does faith fill in the empty spaces left by a lack of knowledge?

Today has been "Why do these pesky atheists come to R&S?" day by the looks of things, but personally I've been missing the daily Pascal's Wager question. So I've been working up to my own (these are all Y!A links below):

If you think it's taking a chance NOT to believe, because if you're wrong the consequences are terrible, whereas if you believe and you're wrong, you're just obliviated - shouldn't the greatest risk be in getting it wrong, and worshipping the wrong god? Wouldn't the real god punish them more than those of us who don't believe in any god at all?

What I'm asking is - doesn't Pascal's Wager lead logically to non-belief? If you REALLY don't want to take any chances with the afterlife - shouldn't you be an atheist?

Evil is the word "live" spelled backward. It is anything that
keeps us from living and enjoying life. Even if it's just a
negative way of thinking.
Stop playing Evil's game, with the blaming and excuses.
And do something positive.
The nicest thing you can do for yourself, is to do something nice for somebody else. Makes you feel like a
human being.

No god comments please as i dont feel they are relevant . But how do you feel about a womens right to have an abortion . I think that most would agree that it is fundamentally wrong to have it later on in the pregnancy but in the very early stages how do you feel about it ? And why do you feel the way you do ?

I go to the movies a lot, but I am starting to think it might not be such a good idea anymore. Over the last few years, more and more young African-American males have become very loud and raucous. At first I thought it was just a local problem, but I attended a theatre in another city and my relatives have noticed the same thing happening. It seems that it has become trendy for African-American youths to interact with the screen and yell at the actors. Has anyone else seen this happen? Is it a cultural problem in the black community?

Atleast I'm honest about it. Everyone is racist at a subconcious level. Why pretend otherwise. Racism is inherent in everyone - It's a survival instinct.
I bet there are many people here who secretly wish all the blacks would just go back to Africa.

I bet all the liberal blacks, whites and Asians are even more racist than the ones who are honest about it.

I bet all the blacks on this board wish all the whites could be their slaves for 500 years. I bet all the Asian Americans would love for the China to be the next superpower and relegate America to second place.

Can you explain OBJECTIVELY how your religion is more true than any another, and how the stories relating to your religion differ from a myth or a fable? If you answer "because mine is true" or anything lame like that, there must be no difference between your religion and other cults/myths/fables, because that is not objective and would be just as good of an answer for any other belief.

I've heard of Jehovah's witnesses before, but is it a part of another religion, like Christianity or Judaism? What are the beliefs of a Jehovah's witness?
I'm Jewish, and I know that Jehovah is how you spell God's name in Hebrew. And a witness-does it literally mean a Jehovah's witness witnesses God?
