Good question. I believe the reason it isn't accepted today is because there are so many christians who protest it.

Actually, it WILL be acceptable. In fact, it's already happening!
There are many false doctrines and new cults popping up everyday; but if you're thinking of something along a grander scale, read Revelation 13.
The Antichrist is going to rise into power.
There will be a whole host of men and women who choose to follow and worship him (the beast), just as with Jesus.
This New World Order, as it's called, will give all of these lost souls an excuse to continue their sordid lifestyles.
Beware the mark of the beast.
Pray for wisdom and don't be deceived. Armageddon is upon us!
GOD Bless!

It was not acceptable even then, much less now. People of that day killed anyone claiming to be a Christian. That's what Paul did before he was converted.
If the Son of God came today, rather than 2000 years ago, the same thing would happen as did then. A few would believe implicitly, many would be healed, most would dismiss Him, and eventually the government would find a way to kill him.

I think ur on to something
There was a point in history where "this jesus cult" got on the nerves of the set establishment.
In that time in history The Nation of Israel was looking for a warlike leader to get rid of the roman oppression, Someone more like Judas Maccabaeus who lead the revolt against Syria in the Maccebean Revolt (160 B.C.???
This "Jon the Baptist movement" to which This perticular Yeshua (Joshua)
((Iesus in greek)) belonged to) were more like the hippies of the Vietnan era. Who knows what might of happened if Jon hadn't lost his head. But yes all people with wierd natural powers are always suspect for fear and rejection.

But no one really knows what Jesus actually said or did. The earliest writings of Jesus' life come more than 40 years after he died, and they're not complete. Authors kept writing "Gospels" for more than a hundred years after Jesus' death and, three hundred years later, a group of church leaders "decided" which gospels, letters, and other documents would be kept as truth.
"We shall introduce into this history in general only those events which may be useful first to ourselves and afterwards to posterity." - Eusebius, father of the modern Bible.
If a person like Jesus existed today, he'd have his own blog and You Tube videos and would have his miracles and wisdom documented in a book and on talk shows. He wouldn't be mysteriously vacant from historical records for an entire generation.

You know ,I think if JC would be roaming the streets he would be in the loony bin very quickly.we are already not living according to Jesus.remember JC never called for a religion.we are so doomed in that department.we invent rules and regulations, yes even taxes in some countries,in the name of the cross.Muslims not any better.we are soooo misguided and retarded. We are sooo busy identifying ourselves with a title (religion)that we have lost completely the focus on what is important.

It wouldn't be excepted today because of the great fear that the anti christ would come first. Thus if someone showed up one day and started performing miracles we as a society would dispatch him as evil, and like they did to JESUS cast him from our site. I beleve that when Jesus first walked the earth it was as the lamb his second coming will be the lion (gods wrath)

it was prophesied that on last days many false prophets will come.we are in the last days and there are so many religions arises and false teaching.People are sign seekers and many drifted away from the Truth.it's because they are Spiritually blinded by the world. The world is full of wickedness. It's really sad to think that people now adays are lover of money, selfish and arrogant. If you are a believer stand firm my friend.God is giving us the chance to turn back to Him.He promised that if we humble oursleves and turn away from our wicked ways then He will hear us,and heal our land.God bless!
