Because lots of times what God wants me to do (or not do) is in direct opposition to what my inner voice wants me to do. It is what Christians call "The battle between the flesh and the spirit." The flesh and the spirit are rarely in agreement with each other. For instance, my flesh / inner voice, like to watch rated R movies. However, God has shown me that I shouldn't watch those kinds of movies. So, my spirit is telling me not to watch them while my inner voice says, "Oh, it's ok...it's just one little move." And tries to justify disobeying God. Or my flesh wants to take a drink of wine but my spirit tells me it's wrong. It is a constant battle between the flesh and the spirit....between God and my inner voice.

I think that's how God talks to us, through our own inner voice. Of course our inner voice can be wrong because of all the different influences. When we pray with an open heart, then our intuition becomes more in tune with what God wants for us.

God gives me signs of warnings that I don't expect when I should be cautious of things. Unexpected accidents, lightening, my alarm clock, lol. He also blesses me when I least expect it. My family isn't rich, but every now and then when I least expect it, my dad has a load of money for me, not just because he loves me but he and the lord know I need it, haha. I'm just blessed, because I give to others myself. I know the difference from my inner voice and God. My inner voice tells me some good, then my inner voice just wants me to do the wrong things at times. All sounds weird, but true.

Read what people do and say, when God speaks to them in various bible stories.

mans own inner voice would tell him to do the wrong thing because we are fleshly people and are under a sinful nature we are more prone to think or do something wrong. we have a consious which god does play on and talk to us and convict us through but i know when im thinking on something and i feel in my heart that its god lesding me that way and i do it, it has never failed to work out the right way but when i always do the opposite it always fail so what does that say.
