If an Atheist celebrate, what are they celebrating? I do it for the family times. I am not Atheist but do feel I am a reformed Christian. I celebrate the act of giving, and loving unconditionally ,

I think we limit God when we ascribe human weaknesses onto him like jealousy or anger. These are human weaknesses. He is God.

To me, it's ludicrous to ascribe to God a human weakness like jealousy.

"I don't want you worshipping any other Gods now, ya hear? . . . And if you do, I'm gonna get really upset and cast you into a lake of fire."

This sounds more like a kid saying that he's gonna hold his breath if he doesn't get want he wants. It doesn't sound like anything the creator of everything that exists would say.

It is my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that the crusades, which resulted in the deaths of millions of men, women and children for no other reason than 'not being christan' were carried out by christians who truly believed in god and truly believed the bible justified their acts. In other words, what happens to mass murderers when they genuinely belief they are doing god's will?

I want to let you all know that Mike is doing much better. He is not in as much pain. His mother said that the doctors will soon start his skin drafts. Please continue praying for him and his family. I appreciate all of your prayers. I can even feel the power of your prayers in my own spirit. I feel God's Peace all around me. Thank you for praying-and thank GOD for listening and helping Mike to be strong enough to survive. If we all prayed for eachother everyday and really cared then maybe the world would be a happier place! LOVE AND PEACE to you all.

I believe in and love God. A response to my last question said that if there was no hell than that would make God a liar.

That is exactly my point, the bible has nothing to do with God. The bible was written by men! Do you think that God moved their hands for them? No! You say these men were "inspired by God". If that was true than wouldn't the bible make some sense?

What if I am "inspired" by God? What if He wanted you to know that He does not judge you by what religion that you belong to, or don't. He wants you to know that a persons sexuality does not matter to Him at all. He wants you to remember what Jesus wanted, to love one another.

My friend, there is hell on earth. Most of us have seen and experienced the evil of others on this earth. Many of the evil is perpetrated by people with a physiological problem. Like depression, bi-polar, and other mental disorders. There are dark souls, of course, but I think that in most cases the body is ill, not
the soul.

These days, you ask the average american who the secretary of state is, and they look at you like you have two heads. Not to even mention the happenings all over the world (not just Iraq) So the question is this. Are americans too apathetic towards world events, and how does their apathy measure compared to the rest of the world?

I realize this is a difficult question because you can't see the statue I'm referring to.
I would like any help in identifying the god in this statue.
The statue has 5 cobras at the base and the god is holding another cobra by the neck.
I was wondering if this statue is of Krishna, but I have no idea.

If anyone knows of the symbolism of the five cobras at the base and the one in the gods hand, that would be interesting as well.

I get around, and have many wonderful friends. The one thing that I have realized is that all of my friends are well dressed, well educated, and an awful lot of fun to be around. They also happen to be well accomodated financially. A friend at lunch observed that poor people may be being punished by God for something that they did. I'm not so sure about that, but I have to say that I notice poor people in the grocery store line tend to make a big ruckus about things, and they are hideously unpleasant on public transportation...putting their feet up on the seats, throwing garbage on the floor etc. I'm not saying that the poor are poor because they are being punished by God. I guess I am wondering why they can't be little nicer.
