It may be not that European languages are based on Sanskrit. There is lot of resemblance in most of the words used in European languages & Sanskrit.

For eg Pitru in Sanskrit & Father in English,
like wise Matru & mother, Bhratru & Brother & so on.

It is likely that the origin of Aryans living in India & the Europe may be one & the same. They might have lived in the same place togeather for many years. Gradually the group of people might have moved to different parts of the Globe for some reasons.

It is how there appears to be a great resemblence in Europian Laguages & Sanskrit

No European languages are based on Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the ancestor of the languages of northern India ONLY. Most of the languages of Europe are distantly related to Sanskrit within the Indo-European family of languages, but NONE of them are descended from Sanskrit. That is just an Indian myth without any more basis in fact than the Tower of Babel myth.

EDIT: OMG. GERMAN IS NOT DESCENDED FROM SANSKRIT. German has no more relation to Sanskrit than does Russian or Italian or Hittite or Irish. I can't believe that any semi-educated person would believe such a thing.

From the history (or even from pre historic period) it is obvious that the whole habituated world was only one piece arguabely that is the present India / Central Asia. From there human started "going places". Same time the land mass started segrated into pieces which had formed current five continents. Americas and Austrelia are explored land except few indiginious settlements. Due to segragation of land mass African continent got human habituate before any official language is formed and hence they have their own languages. But Europe got people only through invasion from India that is called "Aryan" period. This had taken place only after the Aryan language "Sanskrit" is formed. It might have had any other name at the time. After settling down in Europe due to various conditions including that of climate the Aryan pronounsations are changed into various languages including that of German.

It is write to say that almost all if not all European languages a based on or derivation of Aryan Language i.e., Sanskrit.

No, they are not. Sanskrit is, however, part of the same very large family of languages that German is, called Indo-European. both would have ultimately descended from an ancient language that most linguists agree existed despite a lack of written evidence, called Proto-Indo-European.

not all european langusges are originated from Sanskrit but German is mainly based on sanskrit. it has a lot of references to sanskrit grammer. so if you know sanskrit then is very easy to learn german. For better example the logo of Nazi's is called Swastik in Sanskrit with is the symbol of spirituality. but french dutch, hungarian and others are originated from latin so i hardly say not all eurpoean languages are based on sanskrit.
Good Luck

If I remember correctly, I don't think they're necessarily based off of Sanskrit, but are related in the fact that many are Indo-European. But I might have it all mixed up.

I don't believe so. Ancient European languages are influenced by Greek, Aramaic, and Latin. There wasn't enough travel to be heavily influenced by an Indo centric language.
