It is just a nickname, like everyone else has said...It means thin...The opposite is also used, "Gorda" or "Gordo" even "Gordito" (Chubby, fat)...It also depends where you are from...In Spanish the meaning of a word can vary from country to country

In Spain we don't use much this word, that means much thin, we use another words like: flaca or delgadita for girl and delgadito for guy. =P
