I live in one of those old-timey full-service buildings with a doorman, and at Christmas I always tip the guy on the day shift pretty heavily because I work at home and he does a lot for me during the day. I left an Xmas card with a fairly hefty check inside on his desk with his name prominently displayed on the envelope. According to my bank, the check already cleared. This is the first Xmas at our building for this particular doorman; in the past, I've always received a very nice thank-you card from the other doormen.

Should I ask him if he received my card? At some level, I feel like I'm "thanking" him with my gift, so it seems superfluous and selfish on my part to receive an acknowledgement that he got it. I'm torn about whether I should say anything to him. He obviously got the check and the card.

What name would you choose? Or would you go with a more common name in your culture?

If I ever had children in the future (WAY too young right now, haven't met the right person), I'd want my first son to be named Nishat (NEE-SHOT) and/or my first daughter to be named Aramia (AIR-UH-MY-UH). I think those names are unique and easy to pronounce.

O.k. so I have like three close gay guy friend's. Seem's like they all get jealous of each other. I don't know what to do? I try to spend time equally with all of them but it's not enough. Someone always get's offended or has a little attitude. Like "Oh you were with him!" I also have lot's of heterosexual friend's that I spend time with. I guess my question is why do these gay guys not like each other instead of becoming friend's and then we could all hang out?

How is BET racist? How is Kwanzaa racist? How are black colleges and scholarships racists? How is having pride in your race racist? I don't understand it. If someone says white pride they are racist. If someone only dates people of their race they BECOME RACIST. which is stupid yet if someone said they only liked a particular race that is not their race they are racist. For instance, if a white dude said he only liked white girls to an asian chick, he is called racist yet if a white dude tells white girl he only likes asian girls he is not racist. do i smell a double-standard?

Do you think we should cease using the term 'Big Bang' so that the fundies won't be able to perpetuate the myth of the exploding singularity since this has pretty much been nuked (infinities kept creeping up where infinities were invalid... inflationary theory solves that as well as addressing the prima causa scenario, the inflaton itself).

The pizza hut commercial where the man thinks the pizza man made a mistake and charged him the wrong price. Now if he had charged me the wrong price I would be honest and say heh.shouldnt that be a higher price then five dollars a pizza?but this man wonts to cheat the pizza guy.and the mistake might cost the pizza guy the difference. but any way you look at it, its dishonest.and they assume that everyone in the U.S. would take advantage of the mans mistake. I wouldnt. what do you think of advertiseing dishonesty, and saying thats it s fine to take advantage of peoples mistakes. and not being honest?I am never going to buy another pizza hut pizza. since they think its ok to advertise that dishonesty is OK to do.I never liked there pizza anyway.

In this day more people seem to be stoping blind faith and putting more emphasis on love for fellow man, than religious deities.

Just look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgDDg2M9QsY

I'd vote for him but I have a feeling there are too many closet racists who will vote just to keep him out. You just have to look at some of the racist questions on here and some of the disturbingly racist answers.

Also if you go to YouTube you'll see the true colors of people. People can post anything they want there so the closet racists use YouTube to spread their hate.

Why are they spoonfed this misinformation when the Catholic church was in the time of Ignatius Bishop of Antioch in 107AD, who used the Term CATHOLIC CHURCH....the catholic church agreed on what was canon and what is to be included into the Bible you know and love at in 140-200. It is they who decided whether the old testament (jewish law and torah) should be included or not, YEARS after the Catholic church was formed,
why are Fundamentalist Christians so ignorant of Christian History?

in our fantasies magic has always been the power one has over reality and science a sort fools game but as we get more technologically advanced. two interesting things happen. magical things seem to become science things and then we increase what the range and reality of what magic is and can do.

so my question is {as my counselor once put it} do we increase our fantasy to keep up with our reality or do we increase our reality to match our fantasy. our we going to keep creating wild stories to keep up with the need for fantasy in our lives. or are eventual going to try to match what we see in our dreams and do you ever think we'll run out of fantasy due to our reality.
