I have to have someone with dark hair step over our threshhold to let the new year in our house, they have to take a penny, a piece of coal and a slice of bread in with them, that way you never go hungry, be cold or are short of money all year through, does anyone else have these daft rituals too.

i thought it would be a great idea to see if ppl think that homosexuality was something got from birth or if they think they 'caught' it.
personally i aint got a clue.
from the age of 0-6 i was 'straight' as i used to pay lots more attention to girls, apparently.
when i was about 7 i always wanted to 'measure up' to other guys. i think this was my first 'gayness'
from the ages of 7- 12 i kept wanting to compare size or make guys drop their pants playing truth or dare.
i accepted i was gay when i was 12 because i wanted to 'compare' with my best mate. i would stay at his house and try to remove his pants when he was sleeping. then i started wanting to do othrer things like make him erect.
going back to topic i think i was probrably born gay as as soon as i was old enuf to understand sexuality at its basics i tended towards men. reasons i might have 'adopted' gay is cause of lack of father figure and growing up around a lot of females.

what do others think from birth or caught?

I can read anythig in the OT and learn from it.Some guy obviously a little kid posted a question about a scripture in which a man was required to pay 40 pieces of silver for the price of forcing a girl , and he also had to marry her .He intended it as some kind of a piece of evidence in his mind that this shows the bible to be wrong or ridiculous. I never feel that way, but always get great instruction form stories such as those. Some things I get from it are:
responsibility, comittment, honor, order,restitution, sacrifice, justice, purity,cleanness, value, defense of family values, forgiveness, truth, reality, rape prevention, defense of chastity. I look in the world at the detractors and scoffers who would bring this as an accusation and see none of these, but promotion of the opposite, and is it any wonder I believe the bible?

YA is getting annoying, yes they have to have the option to report 'misuse' ,but this really puts a stop to discusion sometimes- there may be 100 people who are not offended and 1 that is and that 1 person can wipe out the words of the 100. Are there any free sites who don't care about laws and court cases etc, where people can speek freely andpiss each other off or agree with each other without censorship?

Lots of questions tonight accusing Christians and atheists of hatred back and forth, and complains of hatred from both sides, and protests about stopping the hatred from both sides.

Does someone's religion really make a difference about whether it's "OK" to hate them or not? We're all still people...yes? Or does someone's belief or lack thereof change your opinion of them so much that it makes hatred OK?

My husband And I have always wanted to adopt a child that needed a loving mother and father...we've checked into it and will probably never get to help some poor child have a nice family all because of the cost and the "red tape" you have to go through..It's NUTS! yet almost every day you hear of some mother that has killed or left hr baby in a dumpster to die because she was afraid and thought she couldn't provide for it. when there are people like myself thta would love to care for such a child...

I am annoyed. I am annoyed because Christian member's of YA have somehow come to the conclusion that they need to save my soul. I have recieved e-mails from many of them either expressing great pity for me, hatred, or, worse attempts at saving my soul. I have never felt the need to e-mail them and save them from thier beliefs, so why do they do it to me? I do not like Christians who try to shove thier God down my throat. They greatly annoy me and frankly, are idiots. Do they really think that with one e-mail I'm going to all of sudden start believing in God? It appears that this is also happening to other non-believers. Is a religous war taking place in YA? Christians, I respect your right to believe whatever you want, please respect mine and don't e-mail me attempting to save my soul.

I'm so sick of hearing religous insults! I don't care what religion they are or even if they have one. These people made up thier minds about what they whant to be. Sure spread your religion in a positive manner but stop insulting others. Im a christian and want to spread the words of the gospel you dont see me going around and complaining about other religions. I respect them it's about time everyone does.

Usually men or woman try to be celibate for religious reasons, i.e. to deepen their relationship to God or to allow themselves space in a very caotic and busy world so they can be more spiritually minded. Is this crazy, or is Freud right when he claims that psychosis results from repression of the pleasure principle. And would anyone want to be without sexuality?
