I can tell you from expierience you are born Gay.Dori like many straight people have to find some other reason because it does not conform to there way of life.I was never sexually abused I had a great upbringing and a happy life, although I hid my sexuality untill late in life .I did 15 years in the Army I now run pubs with my partner of 15 years. I think if you ask 70% of Gay people would not wish the lifestyle on anybody else the older end that is youngsters today have a lot more freedom from bigotry

Dont be silly babe. I have been through all this with doctors, shrinks etc.. The only reason you turn out like anything is because of your parents and their genes ( not jeans lol ) and your chromosones. In my case I am a trans. but I have been told by the doc it is because of a faulty chromosone. A woman is xy and a male xx. I dont know about the other way round but xx can get a little peice missing on the top of the x which makes it xy and that is why males become fem or gay I became very fem and had the operation to change me but then after found out I was lesbian. I have a nice life and enjoy my gf, so you enjoy yours babe.

There is a growing body of evidence that indicates that sexuality is encoded in our DNA. Because of this, homosexuality is not so much nurture as it is nature. Of course, there may be some individuals who "adopt" a homosexual lifestyle for one reason or another, but the same can be said of pretty much *any* form of sexuality.
Based on what I have observed and researched, I think that all animals are born (to varying degrees) bisexual.

We see both biological and environmental links to homosexuality. Current conventional wisdom says genetic traits make you predisposed to be straight or gay, but your environment has a role as well. For this reason we sometimes see identical twins with non-identical sexual orientation.
Same sex sexuality and pair bonding is not exclusively a human thing which tends to suggest it is a very natural state of existence.

Some people are exclusively homosexual or heterosexual from the outset, and nothing anyone can do will change that.
I do think, however, that in some cases people's sexuality is decided by whom they fall in love with.
If lack of a father figure caused boys to 'develop' gay, then our council estates would be hotbeds of homosexuality!
Having read some of the answers here, one question occurs. How come God curses his religious zealots with insomnia?

No one can say anything unless you are gay or bi yourself. Only a true gay or bi person can answer that. My friend is a bi female and she was married to a man, but it put her off men after how she was treated by him, she turned to women for support and to find the love she did not have from her man.

You will get as many answers as there are people.
Science is working on it. It's just gonna take a while.
Personally, I think people are born how they are.
I know a few that have made it their choice, but it's rare.

You are born that way, nobody choses what preferences they have. I like tall skinny men and I have no idea why! I think the thing where you were drawn to girls didn't mean you were straight though. Alot of boys that age have no interest in girls, they like playing with boys, they think girls are smelly! lol. I didn't tell myself that I don't like the taste of liqourice and I love the taste of chocolate did I. Nobody choses anything, you are born that way! How can you catch gayness? lol.

It's widespread within the animal kingdom, and often in herd animals, the gays look after the young while the other adults hunt or seek food.
The gay brain is different - a neurologist should be able to tell. And I have infallible GAYDAR.

Homosexuality is caused by a chemical balance in the brain that is different from the chemical balance in heterosexual brains. One cannot choose to be homosexual or heterosexual. It is a preference that, yes, one is "born with". While sexuality may be enhanced either way by environmental factors, the basic sexual preference is not something that can be chosen or "adopted".
