I agree w/most of what you say about this place, but almost wherever you go, if you don't have a mod telling you what's what, someone who THINKS they're god WILL!
That being said...I used to go to the forum at Slate.com...it's pretty much a free-for-all, or it was. Salon.com is less oppressive than most, but not quite as brawl-like, and there are some real heavy hitters, intellectually. Unless you're up on the latest House Bill and who voted for it, or who won the Pulitzer prize for haikus, they'll land all over you!
If you REALLY want to rumble, check out the forums at Delphi:
http://www.delphiforums.com/aboutDelphi.htm
There are a variety of subjects and the mods there can really be whackos! Some will allow anything...but ONLY if you agree w/them...the swearing is profuse, too! I haven't gone there in ages, so it may have changed...check it out!

agree with you 100%. It's a sad reflection that our country is famed for freedom of speech, but if you say something that the minorities disagree with then you are effectively censored. There are a lot of serious issues in this country that need discussion, and some of them concern immigration and the dumbing down of our culture by incoming minotiry groups. However, organisations like the BBC - with a high immigrant staff - control the media and slap the word 'racist' when one tries to challenge or question some current events. Public shaming of 'racists' deters many people from standing up and stating a truth.
Mass immigration has brought some benefits to this country, but also a drugs problem that did not exist beforehand plus a dumbing down of our education and a slow but steady annihilation of our English culture.
Call me a racist or not, I don't care, but I'm speaking a truth. You can put your hands over your ears but the truth won't go away. Anyone out there got the courage to agree with me?

I agree with you. Same happened to me because I said that I will never marry someone from a particular religion. I mentioned the religion. In fact that particular religion is so violence oriented that I really hate it and I know that all its followers are brainwashed right from childhood. We live in a free society but unfortunately we cannnot talk about the truth because of the so called political correctness. The others enjoy all the "protection" under western laws but down there in their caves they treat the west as ****. And you want me to speak of political correctness?

I answered a fun question on why does everybody ask crap questions and got reported and told my reply had been removed for using the word su.ck. Since when was this a swear word?
I have just been informed that my answer to 'do you understand the concept of multiuniverses' has been deleted for chatting! This is becoming bizzare.

You claiming you are persecuted when you didn't break the rules or you want to go somewhere that there are no rules?? I wouldn't want to go to the place that didn't have any rules and call it "freedom of speech" when it's really interpreted freedom to violate other's freedom and right to be honored and respected as fellow human beings. This place is hardly fit for young people that's for certain.

I've just discovered Yahoo groups- you can say what you like and those over religious types can't stop you.
I've started a group called Atheist Temple thats open to anyone, it hasn't got any members yet but I'm inviting you to be the first, and if you invite others we can have ourselves some good uncensored christ bashing.

I agree with what you say, Christians have a habit of reporting all non-Christian posts, thus preventing a proper debate, this also encourages excessive over reaction against them

freedom of speech is not a blanket freedom
no one has the right to insult someone else, you can critisize all you like but to ridicule or insult is NOT freedom.
(the same way you don't have the freedom to hurt someone physically.)
