Jesus didn't come to be saved. He came TO save. In other words, he didn't want or need to be saved. He had a mission to accomplish, and that meant giving his life for humanity.

I thought Christianity was about Jesus saving Jews and Gentiles, not the other way around...

sense it was them who brought Him to the attention of the Romans I'd have to say yes. Jesus was giving them a legitemate offer not just a trick question type of thing. Note also in the printed scripture the Romans gave everyone the opportunity to receive Jesus as the one set free that day. They refused yelling crucify Him instead.

Unfortunately, no - the plan was put into place from the beginning of time. But the interesting thing is that before he was crucified, Pilate told the Jews that his blood would be on their heads (or hands one) ... which if you think about it, is an AMAZING thing - pilate didn't realize it, but he was covering the Jews in the blood, covering their sins, before they even realized it.

Not saying that thought is Biblical truth to stand on, but it was just a thought I had one day.

Probably not. Pontius Pilate was a vicious ruler who would not have thought twice about executing a political trouble-maker. As soon as Jesus overturned the tables of the money-changers during Passover week, his fate was sealed. Even the Jewish Sanhedrin would have had trouble getting him off the hook.

No. Jesus said that He laid His life down and that nobody could take it from Him. So the way I see it, Jesus had a purpose in life, to die for the sins of the world. Nothing and nobody could of stopped it. Thank God for that.

No, if they could have then Bible Prophecy would not have been fulfilled with 100% accruacy about how Christ would die, which was prophecied at least 700 years before the was crucified. God knew that the Jews would reject Christ.

The Jewish people could have accepted Jesus as the Messiah at that time.

Peter attempted to stop Jesus from being arrested; he cut off the ear of one of the arresting officers - Jesus healed the ear, and told Peter "get behind me, satan". Christ didn't need the Jews or anyone else to save him, because he came to be crucified - he didn't want to have it stopped.
