How is BET racist? How is Kwanzaa racist? How are black colleges and scholarships racists? How is having pride in your race racist? I don't understand it. If someone says white pride they are racist. If someone only dates people of their race they BECOME RACIST. which is stupid yet if someone said they only liked a particular race that is not their race they are racist. For instance, if a white dude said he only liked white girls to an asian chick, he is called racist yet if a white dude tells white girl he only likes asian girls he is not racist. do i smell a double-standard?

I understand the way you are thinking. There is a fine line between racial identity and racism and many people are confused by this. Racism is the belief that one race is to others. Thus, racism does not mean simply recognizing differences between races. BET is too general to be analyzed. There are some shows/people on BET who are racist and some who aren't. I can't distinguish whether or not the entire channel is racist. Kwanzaa isn't racist because it is just a holiday recognizing African heritage and culture. It is not more racist than the Cinco de Mayo or Chinese New Year. Any race can celebrate Kwanzaa along with other holiday traditions. As for your question about "white pride", it depends on what the meaning of this phrase is. If it means that the people feel as if they are better than everyone else, then of course it is racist. But if it means that they feel as white people share commonalities, then it is not wrong. Black colleges and scholarships are two separate issues. Black colleges are good for people who want to relate to people similar to themselves, but I think it's racist for them to alienate people who aren't black from the colleges. Just like there are some colleges with more white people in them, there are some with more black people. I don't think it's fair for either to judge the entrants in their colleges based on race and reject those who do not conform. Scholarships for black students (similar to affirmative action) is much more complicated. This issue is highly debatable but in my opinion, the students' economic situations should be more important than their racial background. Dating people of your own race may or may not be racist. If it is because has to do with physical attraction, it is not racist at all. If a person prefers a certain hair color and body type it is not considered and it should be the same with regard to race. If the reason they don't date women of other races is because they don't like their personalities, then it is racist. I agree with you that there is a double standard because this is a sensitive issue for many people. Understanding racial relations is complicated and personal biases often get in the way. Everyone is a little bit racist but it's only a problem when it interferes with a person's social interactions and self-esteem. I hate it when black people use the N-word because its signification of fraternity has become racial based. Why can't a White or Asian person use the words if they feel as if they can relate in the same way? Black people can't assume that they are using the word in a racist way.

Racism is defined as the belief that one's race is superior to all others. Since none of these examples do, they are not racist.
