my college roommate (that I have no control about living with him or moving out), is a very disrespectful human being. He shows no compassion when he blares his dual 6 foot speakers at 3 AM on finals week. my living room looks and smells like a jumbo sized dumpster and it's 100% HIS mess. He always says something smartass to me no matter what the situation, for reasons I have no clue of. I've never been mean to him or have given him any reason to be like this. I've asked him to clean, I've begged him to let me sleep, I've talked to the housing office who could care less, i've tried bargaining with him, i've tried arguing with him. It just never ends. I'm trying very hard in college and I need my sleep and i need things to be sanitary. as a solution: you might think violence but I'll just leave it at "no comment." he obviously doesn't mind being covered in filth so i can't stink him into cleaning. What would YOU do??

It really doesn't start on Nov 1 or the day after Thanksgiving. The four weeks before Christmas is the Advent Season.

Does dull mean "quiet shy nice good-girl type person"?
Or just uninteresting?

The Final Call has gone out. At the appointed place and the appointed hour They come. One 1 side, the forces of Evil gather
into an army of Darkness the likes of which the world has never seen. On the other side, the Army of Light. The 2 sides face off to decide the fate of the world and the souls of all Mankind. This is the Final Battle. The question: Would YOU be there? Or would you stand on the sidelines, watching on CNN to see who wins?
Do you hold your beliefs dear enough to stand up when it counts?

(bear in mind that, although couched in religious terms, this question is more of a philosophical one.)

Did God create more than one female in the Garden? If not.... Why do we have to go back when we read forward?

ok, im not trying to flame of anything but the bible has a bunch of good points which christians use to justify everything they do, but then it has many things that contradict itself all the time.

When you follow a faith that buts heads with...well..itself. It makes it hard to follow the "truth" (and dont say the bible is the truth, anyone whos studies theology, knows the bible was made over 300 years ago after christ was dead by the council of Nicea)

Christianity could get a much better outlook by society and make more sence and just flat out not seem hippoctitic if a reformation occured.

Im not saying do it,

What are your opinions about if something like this happened?
(Again, not trying to flame, im just seeing what you all would think)

i've been living in america since the day i was born and i still don't understand the death penalty. many of the laws that america has are inspired from the ten commandments. for example, 'thou shalt not kil'. what i'm getting at is why is it justified to murder murderers, when 2 wrongs don't make a right? murdering the murderer will not bring back the victim that person killed.

He said that the only commandment that he would add to the 10 is , Thou shalt love one another as you love me. It5 is the simplest yet hardest commandment. He did not say that you must love a Christian God or a Christian person. He said I am the way the truth and the light. He did not mean that you had to be a Christian. He said if you only live my way will you enter the kingdom of heaven.

As a catholic, i have been very interested in researching religion from a young age. However, today i find a lot of stuff said in the media about other religions i.e. Islam which is not true. Why is it after looking up new questions on here that i find people bad mouthing other peoples religion even though they have no knowledge and that they are just a product of biased media. To me is christianity and to them is theirs, but lets not judge them over what we are told by a very unreliable source. What we see today is a one sided story - agreed?

my sister and i grew up believing in santa claus, we were also brought up as catholics (we grew up and changed our way of thinking). we still believe in God and are more spiritual now BUT,
my question is how can i stop my mother in law, who is a newly devout christian, from filling my kids with HER beliefs. she recently YELLED at my kids! (8 and 5 yr olds) that santa did not bring them their presents that it was baby Jesus.
When i grew up i liked believing in santa and i love to share that belief with my kids.
so.... what do i do or say to my mother in law? she is a part of my kids life and would hate to distance them from her, since, beliefs aside is a good grandmother.

In the old testament God was destroying cities and people. He sent floods to destroy evil. He uses his smiting prolifically.

In the new testament He takes to threatening us with hell. What, did he just discover hell?

If Christs love for humanity made the difference, why aren't we living it?
