through my life i have found all belief to be a state of depression, reasoning with the ability to pretend, why can't people see they are here now, instead they sacrifice their own life for a manmade cause/belief. Getting to know yourself is all you can ever achieve in life. remember, even God can be an idol, am i wrong to think that knowing god would make you a true follower, not believing in him

I am. Why not? I work my butt off all year, all of my gifts are wrapped, everyone is coming to our house this year so I don't have to drive anywhere, and my wife and I can sleep in Christmas morning. I'm getting tanked.

I think our war on terrorism did exactly that.
IT MADE THINGS MUCH WORSE.

I love the Lord and I want to learn and grow in my walk with the Lord and I also want the Holy spirirt to work more in my life.But I have a question what is real true worship of God? I have been in churches and gathering where people seemsed to worship the worship and the "high" of worship and be all emotional. I beleive I should be passionate about God and I want to be, but I want to experience TRUE worship with the Lord. Is worship just singing our raising ones hands and looking to heaven are there other ways to worship the Lord other than song or instrurment? I have been wondering about this question so I thoght I would post it.

Does he not realize that the values and beliefs of the United States of America involve freedom of religion? This whole debacle came from a Muslim being elected into Congress. Goode was threatened by the thought of the Muslim being sworn in with the Quran instead of the Bible. Do you think that a person should be sworn in with the Bible, or with the holy book of their choice?

As a german, I heard/read that in the US many people don´t say "Happy Christmas", but "Happy Holiday". Why is that so? Please don´t tell me that it is because of "not offending" the non-christian people. Even MACYS and the president (!?) don´t write "Christmas" anymore. Is that true? That would be such a shame...

Isn't that part of the preaching, to love all, to love thy enemis too. Can you love everyone would be the realist question here. By loving everyone including your enemies, wouldn't that in turn make you a very poor judge of character. By loving everyone, wouldn't that make the word Love just a word and not a deep feeling. By loving everyone wouldn't that make you one and the same with everyone else leaving you raped of your individuality.

Lately, it seems the celebrity culture and the way we follow them has gotten very extreme. With it's emphasis on image and style rather than character, and the way it drives youth to rather bizarre extremes in fashion and behavior. Is this good for our culture or bad?
