I mean the only things that tell us about God are the Bible and similar books and what people make up. Neither of those sources are credible. Why can't we just except that we don't know who/what created the universe?

Hi there! We have a girl that sometimes just bursts out into whistle here at work and it is getting pretty annoying. I actually wouldn't really mind it if she would finish her song, but she just does it in spats. And very sporadically. I have headphones on to try to drown her out but I can still hear her whistling away over the headphones. Should I talk to my boss about her whistling? It is starting to affect my work I think, and it is giving me headaches...any advice is welcome. This used to be a really quiet office....thanks!

I've been having a debate regarding Coca Cola's role in defining our current perception of the jolly giftgiving man from the North Pole. St. Nicholas clearly existed long before Coca Cola coopted his image in the 1930's. But I want to know if his uniform is a Coca Cola invention.

Merely being naked is no sin: God even told Isaiah the prophet to go naked for awhile ( Isaiah 20 ). So why are so many religious people unable to see the beauty in the nude human form as anything but evil? This makes them seem more messed up than "sinners", because they seem to condemn the most glorious sight on earth --- people made in the image & likeness of GOD --- as if this were evil !? How horrible. Now many christians are condemned to a mindset of their bodies being nothing other than sex-toys, it seems. That's sad.

To win someone over?

Lets PRETEND for a minute I despise Atheists and Homosexuals, becuase I think they are full of sin. By telling them they are evil, bound for Hell, but God loves em, am I going to win them over?

OR, is it better to say, Well, I may not agree......and then continue to know them, and love them anyway, and let God deal with the rest?

How often does rudness, and condemnation actually win someone over, when it comes to religion?

(I said PRTEND because I do not feel that way, check my previous Q&A)

In the Watchtower publication Life-How did it get here. We are told that a day as presented to us in genesis is actually a long period of time like a thousand years and not a literal day as in a solar day of 24 hours. When reading Genesis I have noted that the author of the scripture has indicated that the day is in the actually scripture as being from the rising of the son till the setting of the same. So the days as defined in Genesis are confined to a event involving a Sun and the function of that son compared to a days length. So how is this a greater period then a 24 hour day. The scripture states evening and morning another indication of a literal solar day. Now we have 7 days shown to us in Genesis and in 6 day God rested from his works.

In Exodus 20:11 God himself wrote on tablets of stone, In six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth.

Could you explain to me how it is that the Jehovah's witness come up with a longer time then a day.

I have no idea what gift to get for my boss. Any ideas? I'm the only person in the office and all the men work out at jobsites so I can't ask them to pitch in and really I don't want them too. What would be a decent gift to give to my boss?

School. What is the point. I think in some instances, school can be hold back for people who know what they want to do, but get metiocre grades. But in others, they can really boost people up.
To suceed in this world, you have to at least have a high school diploma and probably some kind of degree. But why does society put such barriers on people?
