School. What is the point. I think in some instances, school can be hold back for people who know what they want to do, but get metiocre grades. But in others, they can really boost people up.
To suceed in this world, you have to at least have a high school diploma and probably some kind of degree. But why does society put such barriers on people?

The point of much education is to try and prepare people for the real world. Basics such as spelling and math are so important for developing other types of thinking skills. We have such a technologically advanced society which is ever changing and education helps us keep up with (some) of those changes. I do understand your point though. I guess it seems kind of pointless to learn certain things when they have no relevance to the job you want. For example, I am a nurse and I have done courses that I can't stop rolling my eyes at because I feel I have learned nothing that would improve my job performance. I certainly encourage higher education, but I know from experience that sometimes, it's good to get out in the real world first to see what it is you want. People are so pressured to go to college right after high school. I say if you want to get out there and work, then go for it, but keep in mind, don't waste your life away working your *** off for minimum wage when you know there is better out there.. And if you have an opportunity to go to school for free, take it...

"metiocre..."

Hopefully, school will teach you how to spell. That's one benefit of going. Honestly, no offense.

"Mediocre" is the correct spelling.

School also teaches you how to get along with others and be social, set and achieve goals, follow deadlines, submit to authority, decide what you may want to do in life, develop self confidence by finding things you are good at, and possibly to think critically, although most high schools don't do such a good job there.

ANYTHING you do in life must have a good foundation. In addition to your family and upbringing, school helps build that foundation.
