Mormons believe in Christ and the Bible, and yet most non-Mormon Christians do not believe in what Mormons believe, that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that Jesus visited a group of Christians living in the Americas long before Columbus. Why is it that non-Mormons find Mormon beliefs to be absurd, when the Book of Mormon is just as miracle-filled and difficult to believe as the Bible? What, really, is the difference between having blind faith in the Bible and having blind faith in the Book of Mormon?

Suppose for a moment that God created life on another planet somewhere in the universe as well, far away, one we haven't discovered. Do you think the inhabitants of that planet would get their own Savior?

Not meant to be offensive to anyone--this is just for fun.

When Osiris is said to bring his believers eternal life in Egyptian Heaven we understand that as a myth.

Ancient people believed in eternal life, with the good going to the Elysian Fields and the not so good going to Hades, we understand that as a myth.

When Vespatian's spittle healed a blind man, we understand that as a myth.

When Apollonius of Tyana raised a girl from death, we understand that as a myth.

When Dionysus turned water into wine, we understand that as a myth. When Dionysus believers are filled with atay, the Spirit of God, we understand that as a myth.

So how come when Jesus is described as
the Son of God, born of a mortal woman, turning water into wine, raising the dead, and healing blind men and His believers got eternal life in Heaven and off to Hades—er, I mean Hell—for the non-belivers...Why is this real?

I've got a friend who will not spend Christmas with her family. I'd invite her over to my home but my family and I will be out of that state. She's not religious so I can't suggest she go to church or anywhere like that. Where can she go to pass the time on Christmas day? Is anything open? Looking for anything in Vermont or New Hampshire.

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, that He Is the Lamb of God to atone for our sins and raising from the dead for our justification is the foundation of the Christian Church. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

Did Mohammad reject the message of the Gospel (We can be reconciled with God through faith in Christ.)? Is that why The Koran denys Eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ?

Also do I tip the guys picking up the stuff, or dropping off the stuff? I would think you don't tip till the job is done.

I realize the gift certificates would be really for both of us, but I'm promising my time and future dates! Also, I plan to make a creative "book" of short letters and tape the gift certificates throughout. Would a 47 year old guy like this as a gift, with some warm Wigwam socks, and a Nalgene bottle full of Power Bars? (We're training for a half marathon).

Theres a girl I go to college with. She has a boyfriend and he knows that I like her. Ever since I told her that I liked her, our friendship has really gotten deep. We tell each other everything and I tell her all the time how I feel about her and give her lots of compliments. Her boyfriend use to tell her that he thinks I am gonna end up sleeping with her. She told me that if that happened, he would dump her and she dosen't want that. She said thats why shes careful around me because she dosen't trust herself. She and her boyfriend argue all the time over the phone. Her boyfriend lives out of the city and she is able to spend some weekends with him(they have sex). She spends more time with me. When she comes over to me and my sisters apartment, she pinches me and plays with my ears, all ok with me. Lately she has been staying at my apartment. She lives at the school dorms and I always ask her to stay at the apartment with my sister and I. She knows I invite her over cause I like her.

I hear a lot of parents complain about what is shown on television, how degrading and how violent it is. Many of these parents beging to write letters and form organizations to ban such material but what I was thinking was, do they ever stop and try to actually use these new parental controls that are available in most new televisions. I have an old television that I bought in 2002, yet it has a parental V-Chip with password protection and I can set it to where it would block anything rated Teen and above. This is technology is not new and has been out for a while, it has been refined and redone, but why do parents still try to complain about what the television shows. It is very simple, block the content, put a password and go on with your life. Is that really too hard?

Truth isn't an opinion and religion is, but religion claims to be the truth. Religious people are, therefore, incapable of honesty and undermine this fundamental aspect of civilisation.

Why does civilisation continue to tolerate, let alone respect, religions?
