Do you think calling Christmas "X-mas" is disrespectful to Christ?

Do you think the English used in this column is so poor that I reallty cannot understand: whole load of grammatical errors, not to mention the spelling mistakes? It is really shameful if such questions are posed by native English people. In fact, even Govt letters have grammatical and spelling mistakes. Come on! British people, Rescue your language!

I heard god was jealous and didn't want to see any other gods in front of him. So they probably grew up together and went their seperate ways. Thats where the question comes from. What do you think?

Three years ago, people gave over $20,000 to a woman named Karyn (http://www.savekaryn.com) to help her pay off credit card debt she wracked up. I started a website http://www.helpasingleparent.com) and no one seems interested in helping. I know no one's obligated to help, but I really don't understand why people would be willing to help someone pay off their bills for purses, shoes, and lattes and not help a hardworking single parent who just needs a break and some help getting bills paid. Any thoughts? I'd love to hear them.

"...being judged by a power which wants to hear only the language it lends us..."

Does that kind of life really appeal to you? Don't you realize that even if God is the "power", the "language" we have in religous texts wasn't written by him, bur rather, by mere mortals just like you and me?

I'm not trying to piss anyone off here, but seriously, WAKE UP people. Even if God does exist, religion is still a sham (man-made no less)

(obviously, this question is aimed at those who are religious, but atheists and agnostics are also welcome to share your thoughts).

As we know, we always hear stories about ghosts and we are so positive that they exists. However, if ghosts can appear in our world, why cant we find a way into their ghost world or whatever you call the place that they live in?Surely if theres a way in theres a way out?

Through this forum . . . interested in your thought of the difference of a person who is religious (through church or temple) vs. one who is simply spiritual (soulful) and has no affiliation with one religion, yet respecting of all. I was raised in a Christian faith. Am now simply spiritual, belong to no religious organization. Believe in heart of God, Jesus Christ, Budda, ' mother earth' et al. I feel confident and have a personal relationship with and feel at peace with my relationship with our creator and the Oneness of all. I'm respectful of all persons journey of faith and religions. This forum here is so open . . . wondering thoughts of persons here regarding religion vs. spiritual persons. Open to all thoughts, agree or not, blunt to open minded.

I read in a newspaper article that odd or flashy colours are "in" this year. My daughter picked out purple ornaments for our tree - so we went with a purple colour theme for everything. Purple lights and ribbon. Any other ideas for our purple Christmas tree?
