A chindon is a two piece drum set with a gong that is carried around for traditional Japanese parades.

I dont know Italian but I know that's what it is in Japanese. Maybe you spelt the Italian version wrong, but I wouldn't be able to tell, so I just gave you what you have down with what I know.

You're close. It is mostly southern Italian dialect and Sicilian and usually spelled something like this: "Cent'anni!" and it does mean "(may you live) a hundred years!"
