I so often see Christians pointing to 1 Cor 1:18-25 and 1 Cor 3:19 and celebrating the anti-intellectual and anti-educational sentiments of these verses.

How Is it a virtue to have less than a high school education and to be ignorant of science, history, mathematics and philosophy?

You know, those Hippogryphica (or whatever they're called) stories which aren't actually in the Bible, like the Gospel of Judas. The story of Lucifer being cast out of Heaven is one of those stories (it's not in the Bible, I assure you) and yet from what I've seen it's widely believed to be true. So, what makes that story any more credible than the ones that no one believes in?

I went to a clothing optional beach last weekend in Miami, Florida and I was surprised at how many minors were on the beach. Most of them seemed to be in groups with their friends. How does the law allow a 12 or 13 year old girl to be around grown naked men like that but in any other scenario it would be considered inappropriate and illegal. I am 31 years old and I was lying nude near the shore and when it turned to my right, I saw 5 teenage girls lying nearby none of them looked over 14. I felt weird because there I was totally naked on my back with my one incher there and these girls were looking over. I then took my towel, put on my flops and left to another part of the beach. Low and behold there was like 5 teens over there also, 3 boys and two girls. I felt like the beach was full of middle age or high school age kids. Why isnt this illegal? None of those girls were nude. In fact they all had on shorts or skirts. This leads me into thinking they are there to gawk. Isnt this wrong?

Do you think it should be made illegal in the US/Canada? I do. Murder is a crime. If a women was raped I understand not wanting the child but it doesn't give her any right to kill it. She should have the baby and give it to foster care not commit murder. If she wasn't raped and had unprotected sex , the women shouldn't have an abortion she should give up the child if she didn't want it. All women have to do is take your baby to a police station fire department and give it them. Don't throw it in a microwave , don't have an abortion don't throw it in a trash cane.

the Best for me? My son was born on Dec. 15th, healthy, beautiful and with the most awesome sky blue eyes I'd ever seen.

the Worst for me? My fiance spent $500.00!!! for this casual jean suit that he thought would look beautiful on me in a SIZE 2!!! Then when I opened it...he wanted me to try it on!! I kept trying to talk him out of my 'trying it on' cuz I knew it wouldn't fit. I take a size 10. Finally 'had to' try it on... and never felt fat before....but my arms wouldn't even fit in the jacket. Haha. Yes...he took it back and gave me the money for me to pick out something for myself.

My mom is 53 years old and doesnt work. She is into gardening, reading, antiques, cooking, and she can sometimes be old-fasioned. I am at a complete loss as to what to get her this year for Christmas. Any ideas would be helpful. I am on a limited budget so under $30 dollars would be nice. =]
