It's the Apocrypha and I have always wondered the same thing. Who decided what should be in the Bible and what should not? I have read that the stories or books that didn't make the cut were felt not to be spiritually inspired. I would like to think myself a Christian, but I do have questions.

Why do you think the god Zeus or goddess Hera are no longer worshiped? They were phased out when new religions came into being, or became popular to worship since humanity could not believe that there was not something greater than they were. Try reading the Catholic bible and compare it to say, the King James version of the Christian bible. Or the newer language versions, whichever is the easiest. The Catholic bible contains more books than the other Christian bibles. There are historys of tales and tales of history, my son, believe how you wish. That was NOT part of the thinking of the monks that actually had the task of printing out the Christian bible stories way back when, so what one man wanted in the book went in. What another, less powerful one wanted in, was left out. Human nature.

THE BOOK OF ENOCH contains the story of Lucifer being cast out of Heaven, as well as much about angels and their nature, etc.
If you would like to read the story there is a link below, plus the site has a lot more information on other similar belief systems and contains a lot of comparative religion and mythology information.
From-The Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha of the Old Testament
The Book of Enoch was extant centuries before the birth of Christ and yet is considered by many to be more Christian in its theology than Jewish. It was considered scripture by many early Christians. The earliest literature of the so-called "Church Fathers" is filled with references to this mysterious book. The early second century "Epistle of Barnabus" makes much use of the Book of Enoch. Second and Third Century "Church Fathers" like Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origin and Clement of Alexandria all make use of the Book of Enoch. Tertullian (160-230 C.E) even called the Book of Enoch "Holy Scripture". The Ethiopic Church even added the Book of Enoch to its official canon. It was widely known and read the first three centuries after Christ. This and many other books became discredited after the Council of Laodicea. And being under ban of the authorities, afterwards it gradually passed out of circulation.

Constantine convened the Nicene Council to decide, among other things, what books to include in the Bible and what to leave out, what date to use for the Mass of Christ (Christmas), and whether or not Jesus was the divine Son of God. The books that didn't make the cut were censored, suppressed, and destroyed for years, but copies did survive, hidden away in cliffside caves on the Dead Sea, i.e. the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Because people believe their religion is right, and all others are wrong. Remember ignorance is bliss, seriously why else would people roam around tiring to convert people of different religions and think it is appropriate but get offended if someone does it to them.
