There is a theory that says that Isreal is going to get sort of a free pass and doesn't need to be converted to Christians. What sort of Biblical support is there for this idea?

Romans 11 explains this in detail... verses 25-32 sums it up like this:

25I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
"The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27And this is[f] my covenant with them
when I take away their sins."[g]
28As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now[h] receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. 32For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

This isnt talking about any "spiritual Isreal" and some may say. It's obvious it is talking about Jews who dont accept Jesus as the Messiah. But they dont because God hardened them (the majority) to the Gospel, for the sake of the Gentiles. Eventually, everyone will know Jesus is the Christ but most Jews right now dont. But God did that for a reason.

No one will get in on a "free pass" but there are texts to support the fact that God will take into consideration what situation a person was born into and how much light he has been given.
With more light a person will be held more accountable.
Psalms 87:4,6 John 9:41 Luke 12:48

Those who died pre-incarnation still had to believe in God and trust Him for their salvation-even though they had to live by the law. Those who have died since Jesus time may have a tougher case. Jesus will not return until the whole nation of Israel repents for rejecting Him. I have heard some think that the Jews get a free ride-but I don't see this in scripture.

properly, i think that's the rationalization there are a brilliant number of religions interior the 1st place. purely such as you do not understand this area of Islam, a Muslim won't comprehend some area of Christianity. this could properly be so regardless of whether lots this concern is defined. For the sake of it, enable me attempt to describe your question besides the fact that in case you are not getting it then it in all likelihood won't help lots. Jesus is of super magnitude in Islam. We, Muslims, have confidence that his project in the international has not yet been performed. 40 years in the previous Doomsday he's supposes to return to Earth as a King. interior the Koran it states that Jesus became into on no account crucified, yet somewhat went into Heaven, with out loss of existence. of course, as you in all likelihood agree, God is almighty. He can do something. consequently, that's our rationalization for the way somebody else ended up being crucified. In society, chaos could reason such grave errors. we are in a position to on no account understand for specific how this happened until we've been surely there. yet besides, i don't think of that that's of grave magnitude so which you could comprehend this rely. purely from the way which you have have been given asked your question, i will rather admire your open-mindedness and how which you admire all faiths. If all non secular human beings theory like this, conflict might incredibly exist. purely such as you do not understand this concern, there are a number of matters that Muslims don't comprehend approximately Christianity. I for one, do not rather draw close the full concept of the Trinity. i don't understand how one element may well be 3. i've got confidence that basically one God can exist, because of the fact he's so effectual and knowledgeable, and the full concept of the trinity purely confuses me. So yea, not information is totally prevalent.

I'm not taking sides in this argument, but I'll mention my own religion's take on a similar aspect.

We think that Heaven is not all or nothing. For example, John Doe recited some words as a teenager saying he accepted Jesus and was really excited about it at the time, but as he grew older he became more cynical. He started showing up to church only on Easter and Christmas, and never really cared about it for the rest of his life.

Then we have Peter and Paul (and many people of today) who give/gave everything they had or have for the work. They not only live a Christian life in word but also in deed. They sacrificed everything for it.

Earlier, someone mention several awesome people who it simply makes common sense to not be burning in Hell. I agree.

We believe that good people will make it in, some of whom were probably atheists in mortality, but they will not receive as much as those who gave everything for Christ. It's simply not fair that John Doe would receive the same as these awesome people.

That said, there are, as with any people, Jews who are evil and Jews who are good. Wicked people won't get a free ticket regardless of race or nationality ("Before Abraham was, I Am" as Christ said in response to some hypocritical pharisees) Good people won't be sent to Hell because they were taught from birth about "that 'wicked' and 'evil' Christianity who tries to oppress" them by wicked or similarly mislead parents.

I close in the words of Christ. "Judge not, lest ye be judged. But if ye must judge, judge righteously." God knows us and our circumstances. He loves us all and has provided a fair way for all to become happy. It will be him who determines who goes where, because he and he alone knows all the circumstances.

first you need to ask Who is Israel? do you not know that by accepting Jesus you are grafted in to the family of God? hello.. you become part of Israel---- Romans 9;4 Hebrews 8;10 Ephesians 2;12 Galatians 3;29 - but if you read Romans it may help you with the Jewish part(you must remember there are 12 tribes of Israel and they were not all Jews only Judah was) but Romans tells us that 11;15 if their rejection be the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead. and in 11;25 a partial hardening has happened. God veiled them and will remove the veil in the end days- this was done so we, as gentiles could be grafted in. and nothing is free look how they suffer because of us!

No biblical support whatsoever.

However, God may save whomsoever he chooses to save, for his own personal reasons, so all is not yet lost for the "Chosen People".

Their fate would be a lot more certain if they would accept Jesus as the Messiah, and it's possible that they will, when he comes again.

That may be enough to save them.

Only God knows.

Pre Jesus the Jews enter heaven through the blood of sacrifice set forth in the Mosaic law. Post Jesus they, like everyone else, must confess Jesus Christ is Lord.

Acts 20:21
I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14
12The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized by[a] one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

14Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.

There is no such scripture, the Jews were God`s chosen people but have rejected their salvation by rejecting their Messiah, and unless they repent and are baptized in Jesus they cannot enter the kingdom, thats how it is for all humanity and no exceptions.

There's the common sense explanation that Ghandi and John Lennon and the Dahlai Lama probably aren't burning for all eternity.
