I have already gotten him an electric razor, clothes, shoes, cologne, etc.... even an electric helicopter....gees... now what? I ran out of things..

Hes not into mp3 players or video games or anything like that, jewelry is too expensive... grrr... and we've only been married 4 yrs.. and I've gotten him everything already. LOL

I am trying to find some information on opera costumes. I have no knowledge of opera or of any characters (other than Phantom which will be played to death I am certain). I am looking for some advice and names of some opera characters. Oh, and just a note of clarity, I am a dude; so no dresses, etc; my friends have already have a hee-hawing good time suggesting that route! Thanks a bunch in advance.

Marx famously said "religion is the opium of the masses". Religion eases the harsh reality of our day to day life. He also says that religion is a form of social control and religion will prevent the working class from having a social revolution.

You can see his point ' the meek will inherit the earth' and those who will be last, will first in heaven' ideals like these are reinforced by religion and is a form of social control that is socially constructed. So basically the bible is false and was constructed in order to keep the working class under control.

You may not accept or respect this view, but can you see where he is coming from?

I didn't know where I should ask this question, so I'm asking it here... We had a birth and a death in our family yesterday. The baby was born a couple of weeks early and even though my Uncle's death was expected, the doctors thought it would be at least a few days or maybe even weeks. But both events happened within hours of each other. I feel weird for even asking this, but does anyone think that this happened on the same day for a reason, because I kind of think that it did. Any serious input would be very appreciated...

If any of us were born in another place and time it would be hard for you to convince me that it's for a purpose-if I was a jew born in the u.s.-if I lived again and was born into an african tribe-Who's to say that faith has it' reasons for you being apart of whatever religon your born into-culture is the real birthplace of religon!Christians say that there is a reason for everything including were we live and what we worship-but if I was born into a muslim community does that mean i'm less of a human for my beliefs-My point is that different cultures over our history has developed religon, as we evolved-we begin to think about life after death, and a creator of somekind-Why not be agnostic(to me we all are anyway) p.s. I asked another question the other day and a kid said that humans have been on earth 7000 years, please do not say things like that without searching your history books-They have found human remains from as long ago as 250,000 years!!!!
