I didn't know where I should ask this question, so I'm asking it here... We had a birth and a death in our family yesterday. The baby was born a couple of weeks early and even though my Uncle's death was expected, the doctors thought it would be at least a few days or maybe even weeks. But both events happened within hours of each other. I feel weird for even asking this, but does anyone think that this happened on the same day for a reason, because I kind of think that it did. Any serious input would be very appreciated...

Thank you for all the responses, I truly do appreciate it. My Uncle was a very sweet man and I will always miss him. And I'm very much looking forward to meeting my new nephew! : )
cheers,
Shauna!

Quite possibly eventhough it is really sad. Good in the sense of the connection between the one born to the one who can only be remembered now.
I know that God is always trying to draw people to Himself and uses everything to do so, because he loves people. God wants people to come to Jesus and live. And it is in doing so that you connect to the heart of God & really gain understanding.
Praying for your family today...I know it is still very hard.

Sure, I would think there was a reason behind it, although what it might be I wouldn't know. Possibly to ease the pain of your uncle's passing with this gift of a new life. Whatever the reason, don't question it. Just accept it as one of those little things that happen for which there is no real explanation.

It's just a coincidence and nothing more.
I remember hearing a story about a baseball player who was born on the day Babe Ruth died. There were a few folks who thought that maybe this kid had the same potential that Ruth did because of it.
Long story short, the guy was a flop in professional baseball.

Everything in life is about lessons. We learn and grow only through personal experience. You experienced the gift of life and then the gift of death. Both are truly gifts. Watch how everyone around you deals with this situation. Learn from it and remember no one ever truly dies. Our energy just changes form.

I don't think it happened that way for any particular reason. Birth and death are part of life. Enjoy the new life given your family. I am sorry for the loss of your uncle.

I tend to believe things go in cycles, one era ends, a new era begins, I am named after my great grandmother who died shortly before my birth and family members have always thought of me as an embodiment of her essence in a lot of ways, there are a lot of times when births and deaths happen in conjunction with each other, it seems to fill out a sort of universal balance of things

I am sorry for you lost, yet congratulate you on your gain. I wish I could tell you what the reason is for this, but if there is a reason it is one you must figure out for yourself. Good luck.

If it comforts you in some way to believe that, I would not take that away from you.
