At some point as adults when we are in a position of having pretty much all that we want, gift giving is a nice idea but no longer necessary. Not much point in wasting money and accumulating more 'stuff'. Agree together to do somethiing else instead....such as each pick a favorite charity they think is worthwhile and do somethiing for that charity.
I adore dogs. My guy makes a donation in my name to a charity that trains pups to be service dogs for the blind and wheelchair bound disabled...and frankly I love it.
Likewise I donate to his favorite charity and once in awhile we go and volunteer our time at these charities. It really makes one feel very good.

Talk to his friends see if he has expressed an interest in a hobby or sport? What does he do when he is not working? Does he have anything he likes to do with you? Boating fishing walking etc.? Most men do not share their inner most wants with wifey for fear of ridicule. My husband wanted to learn how to play golf ever since we were first married I did not even know until we had been married 12yrs and he finally told me he was going golfing with a buddy. When I asked him if he knew how to Golf he said no but he always had wanted to learn. We are a very communicative couple so this really blew me away. So I suggest you start sleuthing around to family and friends. Good Luck !

How about nothing but you with nothing but a red bow. :) What does he enjoy to do? Get him a gift card for that. For example, I fly remote control airplanes but my wife or kids wouldn't have a clue what to buy and there is really nothing else I would like as I have just about everything it seems (clothes, cologne etc).

I know what *my* husband would say, and it doesn't cost a cent! (Use your imagination ~ whatever you come up with is correct) When we were first married, I got him probably 5 packages of boxers and socks. . .He wasn't really impressed. Now, he'd love that! You can never have too many! How about one of those homemade coupon books that have different things you'll do for him year-round, as he redeems the coupon?

Why not get him a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret, and go with him and allow him to pick out something for you to wear for a special night!. You both win there, and you may be surprised at what he picks out for your "special night".
