Doesn't the term "in love" denote a romantic attachment at some level?

"The Nerve of Some People"

I know what that means.
What I'd like to know is the synonym for "some people" in this context.
English isn't my native language, and I don't understan why it should be plural "people" instead of singular "person."

Thanks in advance!

I'm old school when it comes to business attire and our office has gotten very laxed. We have a new young female co-worker that often wears pantyhose with her outfits unlike the rest of the women in our office. I want to encourage her to continue dressing professional by not going barelegged and tossing the hose like every one else has done. I want to compliment her on the way she dresses and how professional she looks when she wears hosiery without seeming like a pervert. Any suggestions?

dumaflachi
doo ma fla chee
Im from Texas and i dont remember where i heard it from, maybe Alabama(i have relatives their) But the other day i thought of this word. i havent thought of it in years. i used to say it alot when i was a kid. In the text i would use it in was to mean what ever i was talking about if i couldnt remember the name of it. say like if i was talking about a relative and i couldnt remember her name because of a brain fart, id say " Is ole...... uh.....whats her name..... ole dumaflachi comming over today".
anyway. i was just wondering if it was really a word or some silly made up one:)

I have come across a lot of people who call their grandmother "nan" or "nanny", I always understood that a nanny was a paid (usually live in) childminder, and that the word nanny is actually a childish derivitive of aunt or auntie.
If someone mentions their "nan" I don't automatically assume that they are referring to their grandmother.
One young lady (of poor education) told me that her grandmother was not her grandmother but her "nan", although I am fully aware that the lady in question is in fact her natural grand mother.
So is it a class thing and if so is it upper or lower, to have a nan instead of a granny?

One in particular I work with has so many irritating habits, the list would go on forever, but the main ones are:

(1) Always repeating other people and trying to make their statements his own (eg someone says "the weather has cleared up". He says "the clouds have gone haven't they?" without any real reply)
(2) Annoying girly laugh and talk for a grown man
(3) Is a long-term temp who doesn't want his own log-in (uses the last employee's log-in which is against company policy), therefore pesters everyone with simple things he could do himself, including looking up department numbers
(4) Dresses like he's at home rather than at work (same dowdy old-looking brown sweater with blue shirts everyday)
(5) Scratches his greasy head constantly over the keyboard as if he's got nits
(6) Looks at cricket results on the internet 95% of the day!

It's all pretty darn distracting when his desk his right in front of me and can't look away. Anybody else out there with v. annoying coworkers?

being offensive anyway? Who says anyone has a Right of Non-Offense?

Being offensive for the sake of offensiveness is stupid but why would someone rather hold back the Truth than offend someone?

Is it acceptable and understood that guests have sex? It just feels weird "doing it" in someone else's house.

1st - about the 3 men that refused to kneel and was thrown in the furnace. I think something like Meeshak, ... and Abindigo.

2nd - I think Daniel -he was a servant - the master's wife wanted sex with him - he refused - his master's wife (accused him) - he told his master on his Lords honor he didn't touch her, she got mad because he refused to have him killed. He said something about - but he swore on his lord. But put him in prison - he became a model prisoner - one day he was discovered to be able to interpret dreams - including 2 guys who stole something. and the 7 years drought.

3rd one - (maybe part of 2nd one, I think) - the youngest son of MANY who was "supposedly" killed by a lion and sold into slavery. and later his family needed grain and he hid gold in the youngest sack to make the father come for him

4th one - the many plagues including the death angel that killed 1st born unless you put blood on door.

5th one - story of noah and the flood.

Thanks!
