homosexuality is a polygenic trait. Meaning that many genes are involved (we don't know how many and we don't know where they are all). We also don't know which environmental factors influence brain development and gender development in any one individual. So what was I trying to say about nature and nurture? Most scientific studies thus far suggest that it is a combination of both NATURE AND NURTURE. Biologically I would argue that evidence suggests that many genes plus unknown environmental factors working mainly during prenatal development cause same sex attraction. Born gay - yes. Choice - not in most cases. Like we said in class that makes this characteristic difficult to understand and about as complex as they come...just like alcoholism, mental illness.

So we won't be able to simply choose not to have a homosexual child by a DNA test. Despite what you read in the papers this genome stuff is never that simple. I do try to simplify it a bit when I talk to the general public and the presentation that I shared in class was first developed for PFLAG (parents and friends of gays and lesbians). Since parents can't chose not to have homosexual children the more important question becomes...what should parents if a child says they are gay??? O.K. all you parents out there what would you do??

I am wondering for those who do believe in abortion. When is a fetus considered a baby to you? Also do you actually know what they do to perform an abortion? What are your overall feelings about abortions?

* I am just asking this, as my college English class had to write research papers, and there was one pro-choice, and one pro-life. Just trying to see what others think. I personally am pro-life. What to see the views from the other side. Not trying to offend others, just get information.

I am attending a christmas party this Saturday, and the invitation said to "please bring a gift to exchange related to this year's party theme: Gingerbread People".
I dont want to bring the obvoious gingerbread cookies or food item, I would like to bring something fun and unique. Also, I am assuming it has to be a unisex gift as both men and women will be doing the gift exchange.

So I was in Food Lion, and I went to the checkout and the girl asks me if I have a Food Lion MVP card. So I tell her that I don't have it on me right now. So she asks the guy behind me if he has a Food Lion card and he goes yeah. So she takes his card and swipes it.

So he got the points. HE GOT THE POINTS. That's absoloutly NOT FARE. Why should HE get the points just because he has a card? I don't want MY POINTS being given away to some random person.

How dare she. HOW DARE SHE GIVE AWAY MY POINTS. I felt like slapping that hispanic ***** across the face.
