I dont mean to be rude but one of my biggest problems with religion is that members of certain religions are able to commit horrible acts considered as sin like murder, violence etc and yet they can go to church the next day, ask god for forgiveness and then go out and tell a non-believer who has never committed any atrocious acts comparable to thier own that they are going to hell for thier sins. This concept has been the main reason why I do not ascribe to any organized religion, it strikes me as immoral to commit sins knowing you will be forgiven for it. This facet of religion goes against everything that I believe in, I dont think it is right to hide behind forgiveness and then justify it by saying we are imperfect thats why god forgives us. Isnt it better to develop your morality so that in the future you can avoid doing what is wrong because you know it is wrong not because you fear some deity will deny you entrance to an afterlife if you dont ask forgiveness. What do you think?

Is it me or is every1 just Islamophobic? Okay I get it we're not exactly the most loved ppl in the world right now for obvious reasons. Shall i still bother to to spread the truth and not argue back even though some ppl on this page havedecided 2 go so low as to mention that they will throw the Qu'ran down the toilet. I think we should just answer those who really are asking a decent question and ignore those who are just trying to get on our nerves. What do u think??

GLSEN Supports Florida Student, ACLU in Lawsuit to Form GSA

NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2006 – In yet another example of a school potentially putting anti-LGBT bias ahead of an enriching and safe school climate, an Okeechobee High School student is suing her school for not allowing a Gay-Straight Alliance to meet on campus.
The Federal Equal Access Act requires schools to allow every co-curricular student club to meet on campus. Currently, according to the student’s complaint filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, the school allows co-curricular clubs such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America, and the Latin Club, among others, to meet on campus.

"It’s disheartening that the administration of Okeechobee High School would choose to deny access to a club that teaches respect and tolerance," said GLSEN Founder and Executive Director Kevin Jennings. "The reality is when Gay-Straight Alliances are formed on campus, all students benefit."

GSAs provide a safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students and their straight allies to promote respect and tolerance and address anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. The presence of a GSA relates to reduced absenteeism, better academic performance and a greater sense of belonging at their school for students. According to GLSEN’s 2005 National School Climate Survey, which documented the experiences of LGBT students in school:

LGBT students whose school had a GSA were less likely to miss school because they felt unsafe compared to other students. About a third of students whose school has no GSA missed at least one day of school in the past month (32.0%) compared to a quarter of students whose school had a GSA (25.5%).

LGBT students whose school had a GSA reported higher levels of school belonging than students whose school did not.
More than 3,000 GSAs have registered with GLSEN, including more than 100 in Florida. GLSEN provides a place for students to register their GSAs and receive support and resources.

i think by separating people just by the color of there skin is what creates racism. if people just saw people then everything would be ok. by saying a certain joke is bad pushes the person the joke is about away and makes the gap between races bigger. why are people so stupid?

I have been invited to an evening party at an upscale home in So. California, where recommended dress is "Cocktail attire." I have the perfect little black dress...do I need to wear stockings? I am tanned, and prefer the look of my legs without stockings. What is appropriate?

This girl my class was asking me why do I make a big deal about being mixed and she asked me what does it justify. She said that I talk about it alot and she said that in her eyes I'm just a Black person. I talk about it because I'm proud of who I am and I never have been in touch with my culture.

Why do so many pick and choose what they want to accept and reject? For if the Bible tells us you are to be holy for I am holy, they is it not reasonable to be holy? And if that is impossible why did Jesus tell persons He exorcised not to sin no more?

Lost civilisation from 7,500 BC discovered off Indian coast

Archaeologists have found a civilisation dating back to 7,500 BC off India's western coast.

The find is 5,000 years older than any previously unearthed civilisation in the subcontinent.

Researchers uncovered pottery, beads, sculptures, a fossilised jaw bone and human teeth at the Gulf of Cambay site.(DNA tests?)

Previously, the oldest known civilisations were the Harrapan and Indus Valley communities - which date from around 2,500BC.

Murli Manohar Joshi, minister for human resources and ocean development, told The Times of India: "The findings buried 40 metres below the sea reveal some sort of human civilisation, a courtyard, staircase, a bathroom or a temple."

Researchers used carbon-dating techniques. The find was made by the Indian ocean development and archaeology institutes.

The very basic belief in Christianity is that humans are born sinful and therefore by default assigned to Hell because the first man and woman (Adam & Eve) broke the single rule god gave them thus introducing sin into the world.

In modern times most resonable people acknowledge the story of Adam and Eve as what it really is, a myth. Scientifically we know it's not true that people were created as they exist today 6,000 years ago. We instead evolved from other species millions of years ago.

Many Christians, despite the evidence for the reality of our situation, still cling to this myth as a truth and will fight tooth and nail anyone who disagrees with them on this point. Since this story tells us that we are evil dispicable creatures by default because of the actions of our first anscestors, and we can show quite clearly that this story is false, wouldn't that be good news? It means we aren't automatically evil. That's a good thing, why fight it?
