I think they both did wonderfully in the parts they were scripted to play.
Morgan Freeman's role explains God's relationship with the world. Alanis Morisette answers the ever present question of " Why?" I commend the both on a fine performance.

100% Alanis Morisette played the greatest god ever. She wore flip flops, she danced around and she didn't talk. I thought she was terrific and that it was fantastic of Kevin Smith to cast her in that role.
Also, she's Canadian! (like myself)
