I use the term "kids" with my friends (most of which are in their early 20's), and some have asked me not to call them that. What's so offensive? I feel that someone mature enough wouldn't be that sensitive, but maybe I'm wrong. Opinion?

P.S. In calling these people "kids" I am not making a reference to their maturity, merely using it as a term of endearment.

I'm a senior in HS right now. I've been diagnosed with Hypersomnia. For the past years (through middle school) i couldn't help but fall asleep in every class, it sucked. Parents would tell me to get more sleep, teachers would get mad, etc. I tried to tell them. It wasn't until I fell asleep at a hospital i was volunteering at did it get noticed...long story. Anyway, I know there's a lot of kids out there who are having medical/social problems letting it out or don't even know what's going on...whether it deals with hypersomnia, depression, pregancy, etc. I want to someday tour High School's and help them find out what's going on BEFORE college comes around (where your future REALLY starts)...Any idea on how i can get started with something like that...?

Homo Erectus or Homo Habilias or one of the other prehistoric races? You can't really say how long ago they lived because sometimes in the bible they skip generations in the geneologies. And Esau was hairy enough that he looked like a hairy garment and Jacob had to put goats fur on his hands to impersonate him. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

The Bible has many instances of approved murder, rape, theft and humiliation (some by Jesus, their messiah). I'm looking for various answers and examples from Christians and non-Christians alike about how they justify things like this. For example, if something's bad or proven incorrect by science, Christians usually say something's "out of context" or a misinterpretation, or that magic works in mysterious ways. What have you heard? What kinds of things do you like to say? Thanks in advance to everyone.
