It's for sure the reason, and that's what I tell my children . I can't stand when people write ,Xmas, that means you are taking Christ out of Christmas. Spread the word and rejoice! Merry Christmas to all!

Yes Susan I believe that Jesus is the reason both at Christmas and Easter. But because the world does not believe, and doesn't want to be convicted of their sin, they have essentially turned both holidays into pagan feast days with origins in the Equinox. Christmas has become "All Materialism Day" and the day we celebrate the Resurrection they celebrate as "Easter Bunny Day". Unsaved people say it takes too much faith to believe in Jesus as the Messaiah, so they teach their children instead to have faith in a fat man with a red suit who has reindeers who fly. For Easter they teach their children to have faith in a rabbit that lays candy eggs. And in school they teach another fairy tale-evolution without a shread of evidence to prove it. The Bible says that turning aside from Truth, they turned to fables. If we are wanting the world to celebrate the birth of the son of God or rejoice in the ressurrection of the Messaiah, we will be disappointed. Bible -believing Christians are in the minority and the US is turning away from the LORD. I'm glad you believe in Jesus. Now is the time to study and memorize His Word because their are forces at work in the USA that would make it illegal to speak of God or Jesus in public. It's already happening in school and in the armed services.
Jesus IS the reason for the season and you can rejoice knowing that millions of true believers are celebrating more than candy canes this season. . #8^) 3

Like others have said, it's actually a Pagan tradition... but either way I'm not religious so Jesus is not the reason I celebrate the season - I just enjoy catching up with my family and relaxing, and getting that wonderful giving feeling.

Christmas and Easter were originally Pagan holidays and I celebrate them the Pagan way. But your worship of Christ doesn't bother me at all. It's good to have something to believe in. Blessed be and have a Happy Christmas.

funny. but the celebrations come from pagan hollidays, and the traditions we hold are actually pagan traditions. all thats changed is the name of it and the symbol.
in reality christ wasnt born december 25th, any bible scholar knows this.
the tree, holly, mistletoe, eating ham, opening presents are all pagan traditions.
closer to the truth is, we celebrate this holliday at this time of year because when christianity started coming to, they wanted to take the "lime-light" off the pagans and put it on christianity.
