Just listen to the melody. I felt the same way when every station played heavy metal. Settle down. Do you sit in the back ground and hate people that are having fun. You must have some Cd's you can listen too. You will never, never, never be able to shut off the music. I can't do a thing about the rot that I hear from the stand up comedy comedians. We both will have to get a life and go on.

Hang out with other people. I avoid the mall at Christmas, just too busy for my taste. Then again, I never enjoy the mall. I like Christmas decorations but for me, Christmas is to be celebrated from around the 23rd of December to the 1st of January. I have little interest in the commercialism of Christmas.
This doesn't mean you can't play Christian music or put up a Nativity scene. I am not bothered by that. The whole big nightmare of kids lining up for Santa and hundreds of people in Toys'R'Us plus screaming and shoving doesn't appeal to me. I will do my shopping downtown in about two weeks.

if you want to hear the honest truth?
then if you do not want to hear the garbage during this season, sound proof your house, sound proof your car, sound proof your workplace & wear expensive headphones for your mp3 player.
or go live in some God-forsaken place (if you believe that there is such a place) for 1 month, where people do not believe in Christ.
although you might get to hear a different type of garbage from a different set of people with a different belief system

Tis the season scrooge, it's only for another few weeks, plus I hate when people put a X in Christmas, you are taking the whole reason for the season out. Cheer up grouchy!

First, you could try calming down a notch and easing that giant chip off your shoulder.
Are you annoyed by cute children, too? Puppy dogs? Happiness? Good cheer?
No one is stepping on your toes. You have the choice to celebrate Christmas or not. You don't want to? Fine. Don't be nasty to people who choose to. Christmas music can be annoying, but you seem like you have a giant chip on your shoulder.

Nobody likes Christmas music. Not even Christians. Just snuggle up to a bottle of cheap whiskey, pretty soon you'll be able to stand "silent night", we 3 kings", and even "O christmas tree".

One day, when reason dominates man, people will realize how truly putrid Christmas music is and shut it off forever.

if you are at work ask politely and if they don't then purchase ear plugs. at home there is a real interesting thing called an off on switch and it works -- if not pull the plug

Plug your ears! There's nothing you can do to stop the music.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!

Get buttons. Get buttons that say different things like: "Santa isn't real dumb..a.s.s" or "Jesus was a liberal, quit killing trees" or "The next X-Mas song I hear I'm going to vomit down you're throat!!" .... Hmmm, come to think of it, perhaps I'll get some buttons too. from atheist Jack, be well and Happpy.....uh, happy Festivus!!
