The church has this " forgiveness " fettish. You can do all the evil you want, as long as you go to the confess you sins, you're fine. It's like it never happened.
What the church refuses you acknowledge is the " Blasphemy against the Spirit " rule that Jesus set. They always seem to over look that one.

Why are they hypocritical, you ask? Because they have not "crucified" their flesh as Christians are commanded to do (Galatians 2:20 and 5:24). In other words, they haven't brought their sinful desires under the Will of God, instead of their own will.
Why is it you've focused on the comparatively few "Christians" who have been exposed for their hypocricy, yet ignored the billions of humble, pious, obedient Christians who haven't done what these men did? Food for thought.
Peace.
EDIT: "Odindmar," it appears you do not understand what blasphemy against the Holy Spirit even is. If you want to know, send me a message through Yahoo Answers.

I have no answer to that.. the Christian leaders however have sinned before God, and have bcome a Bad example for all the Christians out there who serve the Lord God with the whole Dedication... maybe they have been pretending to be moral Christians.

Have you ever heard of Billy Graham; He and MANY OTHERS nationally known and local in every region are NOT deviants, perverts, or hypocrits.
Because you've heard of a few - doesn't justify painting "Most" christian leaders with the same brush.

To the Law and to the Testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isa 8:20. They preached a pleasing line to man, but they left out the law and the testimony.

I don't blame you for feeling upset or angry, whatever it is you feel about these guys. They hurt the cause of Christ. Most pastors in the local churches are not like that. They are people who love the Lord and do good jobs. With Christianity you can't always look to people for your example, you have to focus on Christ. They will be judge for their sins, just like the rest of us.

Because while they may say one thing because they feel it necessary to hold up the dogma of the church, it doesn't mean they necessarily practice what they preach. Remember that it's just dogma, most of it has no relevance to the bible at all and is just what certain christian groups want you to believe. And yes, hypocrisy exists within those groups.

Its not only Christians. I am from India and we have some Sadhus and Priests (Hindu priests) who pretend to be holy men and molest and rape women who come to them for solace or for spiritual help.

My take? I think it's because they get caught up in the world of wealth and politics and forget "their first love".
Simply the sins of Pride and Lust run amok.

My theory is that early in life they internalize whatever supposed vice they have and to compensate for it they become extremely religious.
