The Gideons started this as a way to spread the gospel, and before TVs hotel owners were happy to have a form of entertainment put in the rooms for free.

An organization called the Gideon society (I think?) has traditionally donated bibles to hotels to be placed in hotel rooms. They are always placed in a drawer, and you can read them or leave them alone. You can also keep one if you need it.
I have sometimes really welcomed that there was one in a hotel room I was staying in, when I needed it.
It kills me that people are somehow offended by the presence of it. Just don't open the drawer people! No one's forcing you to look at it!

They in all probability placed a Koran, Torah, etc. in hotel rooms in countries the place that faith is dominant. because of fact the popular public of human beings are christian/catholic/despite different ones are taken with the bible, they placed bibles in hotel rooms. As a random occasion, in case you bypass to a hotel in Iran, that's in all probability which you will hit upon a Koran.

Really? I don't think they do in Britain as ive never come across a bible in any hotels or guest houses ive stayed in. They do put them in the Hospitals though, in the cabinet by each bed but you can ask them to remove it.

I really wish I knew. It's so odd. As a joke - I thought it would be hysterical to start leaving copies of the Satanic Bible in hotel rooms. But then I have a sick and twisted sense of humor.

For people like yourself who are down on life and those who love it. Many people sit in hotel rooms very depressed and contemplate suicide. Heard many a testimony of people who didn't because they found a bible that changed their life.

i dont.
but the organization who do is probably doing it because they believe in "sharing" the Word of God.
& by them doing it, many who have opened up their drawers & read out of the book have:
1. been convicted to avoid committing suicide
2. cured their insomnia in 5 minutes
3. laughed a real laugh for the first time in years
4. stop them for commiting sexual pervasion, aberration, immorality. etc. (some even for a split-second)
5. made them to think for the first time in ages
6. had something to be mad at & complain about (to add to the 1,001 things they already have in their complaint list).
7. and a hundred different reasons that made their day (or night).
