What would people do instead of praying and going to church. What would we do with the Vatican, churches, cathedrals, mosques, the Pope and ministers ? What would people fight about? Who would run soup kitchens? What would we argue about on Y!A?

when I was in second grade a girl in my class asked me "if your jewish then why dont you have horns?" I cried and told my mom. she said if it ever happened again, to show them the scars ive got on my head under my hair and tell them that I had gotten them removed. I dont understand why people would think such a thing!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a tin, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cots were covered with brightly coloured lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking ..

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a van - loose - was always great fun.

We drank water from the garden hosepipe and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cakes, white bread and real butter and drank pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because...... WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the
problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones, no text messaging, no personal
computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and looked for and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We played with worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out any eyes.

We rode our bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or we just yelled for them!

Local sports teams had "tryouts" and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.

Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

...and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were

I'm interested in learning more about meditation but I find it challenging to practice meditation at home as there is never any silence to take advantage of. By the time everyone is quiet and in bed, i'm exhausted and end up going to bed too. I find background noise distracting but I'm wondering if silence is required for meditation. Can a person eventually master the art of meditation to the point where silence is not necessary? If anyone meditates seriously and regularly, I would be interested in talking to you about it.

I am so astonished that people honestly believe whole heartedly that the holocaust is just a myth, or an embellished story. how could that be? why on earth would people deny that something so tragic took place? some people say the holocaust is just a jewish sob story. it upsets me to hear that. why do people think this? if you dont believe the holocaust happened, then could you explain to me why you believe this??

Since God places the soul into the fetus at the moment of conception, making it a Human and if freezing a Human being solid kills it, releasing the soul from the body, am I an abomination because I now live without a soul, and am I doomed to the fires of hell, or am I exempt from that too because I have no soul?

Many atheists complain that Christians "push" their beliefs on people. An Evangilist is an eunthuastic advocate. Christians are just sharing the Word and Hope of God.

Would atheists be happy if this were not allowed?

Most of my family came in the 1970s and none of my family was here in slavery or killed indians. I dont care. I was born in anti white discrimination. I dont give a damn about your "history". All I know is you all are allowed to get away with murder and we are not allowed any pride and told we are bland blank and useless by the media.
