2. Prince Of Darkness
By Megadeth
[Dave Mustaine/Marty Friedman]

My victims are rich of poor, young or old, strong or weak
I cause millions of accidents, I am cancer in your bones
I fathered the lie, twist what you say, speak not the truth
I am insidious, impartial, deep inside your chromosomes

I take what you love, and leave you in tears
I imprison your soul, your hopes are my games
I strip you of pride, my promise is in vain
While you burn at the stake I dance with the flames

I bring poverty, sickness and death
A worthless handshake, the slickest thief, I steal your wealth
I answer your prayers for greed and lust
More than evil, I laugh at your trust

I am more powerful than all the armies of the world
I am more violent than violence, more deadly than death
I have destroyed more men than all the nation's wars
I am relentless, unpredictable, waiting for your last breath

Evil, more evil than violence
Violent, more violent than death
Deadly, more deadly than man
I am yeah, yeah, I'm evil I am

My kingdom corrupt with dissent
Your sins erupt by my intent
I loathe your prayer, I wallow in sin
Let the nightmare begin
Prince of darkness, your satanic highness
Prince of darkness, the devilish serpent, the dreaded Lucifer
Prince of darkness

I take what you love, and leave you in tears
Imprison your soul, your hopes are my games
I strip you of pride, my promise is in vain
While you burn at the stake I dance with the flames

Prince of darkness, your satanic highness
Prince of darkness, the most beautiful angel
Prince of darkness, the devilish serpent, the dreaded Lucifer
Prince of darkness, unpredictable, the prince of darkness
Prince of darkness

Many Christians look on the outer surface rather than to delve any deeper for their perception of something.I am christian and I like Metallica. I never listened to megadeath so I cannot speak of that group but I can say that I choose not to listen to music that includes lyrics that are offensive be it a religious offense or a simple personal affront to my race, sex, or general lifestyle.

Because they don't give glory to God, they have songs that tend to be on the darker side, artwork associated with said groups tends to be darker. Some think any music that is not specifically Christian is evil, some think anything with a 2/4 beat is evil.

I myself do not follow with that thinking. lol Just explaining why some believe as they do.

there is a wonderful version of the Metallica song " nothing else matters " sung by gregorian monks .... if you can find it please listen to it
the point i am trying to make is
if someone else sings these songs ... which at times have the most amazing lyrics... then they would not be as frowned upon
but because these people look a little different to the clean cut religious people , they are thought to be evil etc ... its all nonsense

Because there are always going to be Christians that don't understand.
Metallica is good not evil.
I think it's a perspective thing.
I'm a very open-minded Christian I guess, which is the true way I think.
Not all Christians are practicing what they preach.
Forgive them and you are a true Christian.

Peace, joy, and love.

because they're stereotyping heavy metal. i listen to Slayer, Lamb of God, Metallica (devoutly), and various other metal bands, and i have been asked numerous times if i was a satanist. to many people, if the music has distortion, screaming, guitar solos, and is loud and evil-sounding (which are great things to me) then it must be spawned of satan. these people are unintelligent, and grossly uninformed about heavy metal

Perhaps because they make a point to use satanic symbols in their music and artwork, and brag about how evil they supposedly are?

If you hang out the sign, expect to get the label!

rock music, or any music, isnt an issue. its the content. charismatic churches and rock christian bands are doing fine, arent they? take a look at some of such churches if u have the time.

listen to their lyrics better most of their music is about, rebellion, fighting authority, violence, death, and sex and disrepecting elders and women, and also about drugs. some groups even mention about witchcraft the occult and human and animal sacrifices and it puts people down and doesn't lift them up,spritualy.
