Right on Sister:) My family has been here for generations but we've never owned slaves or discriminated against minorities. Why should we be blamed when it's their own fault. It's about time the minorities took responsibility for their lives and they way they turned out.

We need to remember history because it does have a way of repeating itself. I agree that reverse discrimination does show up and is more acceptable, but any form of prejudicial behavior is wrong. We, as a nation, have really tried to right the wrongs done to blacks but it never seems to be enough. At least not to some. Now it's become a matter of playing the race card every chance possible and expecting more handouts. It's time to realize racism will never completely go away. It has diminished greatly and probably will continue to do so. My family wasn't here either during slavery. My Italian grandparents worked hard to achieve the American Dream. That's what people should do no matter what they look like.

Now, ain't that a pity, ma'am?
We get bashed for a lot of things we didn't do and were no part of.
Besides the immigrant Muslims are now deciding what's Politically Correct or Incorrect like "God Bless America" and "Merry Christmas" is offensive so they want us to use "Season's Greetings" instead and not say "God Bless America" at all!? Because that's like praising the Christian God!?
My family's a bit older than yours, ma'am, but we didn't have slaves and we actually fought for their emancipation. Besides, I'm part Comanche and Blackfoot!? And, I had a grandmother who was a Chigrita[half Chinese, half Black]!? And most of my friends and colleagues are like me. All of us have Native American blood in us and that didn't happen by our killing them, but marrying them.
Actually, ma'am, most people don't know the fact that the native Americans actually got assimilated here by mingling with the white people and many of the purer blood Native Americans had grown rich.
Sure, there were Wars and killings, but most of us weren't murderers and many of those who were were brought to justice.
It's kind of sickening to be labelled like this, nowadays, ma'am.
Most "White Americans" aren't even all "White", we just look White.
Merry Christmas, ma'am.
And, God Bless America!!!

Why must your pride be competitive?
I mean, can't you be proud of your roots without putting down, or discouraging someone else's pride? Why must there be this conflict you feel?
I'm as bland as it gets. I'm a 5th generation white Canadian with no knowledge of which countries my great grandparents came from. I have no culture beyond the culture I make for myself.
Yet... I don't feel the media is putting me down, nor do I feel like I am worthless.
Maybe it's all in your head.

Why should you care? Because you are living in the USA now. History might give you clues toward understanding your experiences. No matter where one lives there are good things and bad. Please try and look past the bad and see what good there is in you life.

What are you talking about? I think you need to give more detailed examples of how Blacks use racism as an excuse to discriminate against Whites.

You don't have to care about anything you don't want to care about. That's why it's called an opinion =]
