Everyone seems to know that "reality tv" is fake no big secret written scripts,one dimension characters,made-up locations all products of producers and writers.but viewers dont seem to care why not?If everyone knows what is done for the cameras would "reality tv" lose its popularity. (of course there is "jerry springer..they dont even try to make the fights look real anymore)
Examples of one dimension characters:
"She an Atheist so she have 2b tattooted & pierced"
" oh she a Southern Bell so she have to look and act this way..."
"oh he's black so he have 2b athletic or "hate" gay ppl or both
etc.etc

If you are doing something special for your neighborhood this holiday season, is this something that simply carries over from the rest of the year or is this a once a year thing? If you only do this once a year, why do you not help out all year long?

I'm thinking about joining Islam, but I need to know a couple things about it. Please give examples if possible

1) Is Islam a religion of peace
2) Does Islam have anything against other religions
3) How do Muslims deal with everyday racism
4) Is there any chance that all religions can coexist peacefully
5) If I become Muslim, would I have to start wearing sandals? It's a stupid question, but I have a shoe fetish.
6) If you got arrested and sent to Syria or Gitmo to be tortured, what would you do? Give false confession and seek legal action
7) How can Muslims improve the image of Islam
8) When will Muslim persecution be over
9) If I become Muslim, would I get a new name
10) If I become Muslim, would I have to do all the praying, or can I become a more liberal Muslim who prays once a day or something
11) Do you ever question the Quran and how much is true
12) Does Islam have anything against women or gay people?

Im really thinking about converting, so any help is good.

i am not a feminist....and this question may not be very true in more liberal countries.....i think it's more applicable to conservative societies.....you know all those ads about being proud to be a virgin.....i know it may carry a message to prevent unwanted pregnancies, stds and all those......but somehow underlying it is about virginity....well, somehow i am nt too agreeable with all these celebrations of virginity...i am not saying that ppl should sleep around and...but i think the status of virginity is just overly emphasised....especially for women, esp in conservative societies.....i mean it's no biggie if a girl is a virgin or not....and i dun think it's wrong to lose it b4 marriage, it's just human's need if u know wot i mean......it shouldnt be an issue in the 1st place.....n when they say 'man would only marry a virgin', it's crap right, it's like woman is nothing but all about her virginity.....
what u guys think? especially those from conservative backgrnd....

For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whomever believeth in HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life - Who does the him refer to? Him - Jesus or Him - God? It was originally called "Yule" you know. It was re-named "christ-mas" to co-incide with the pagan holiday. That's how early christianity worked, like a thief in the night.
But all of the trappings of paganism are still there;
The tree, the yule log (whether it be a real log or a cake) lights and candles, even worshiping a magic sky-pixie, it's all there.

in dundalk ireland a man left instrutions that when he died that he was to spend 1 night of his wake in the church {in his coffin of course}
2 bums went into the church that night and opened the coffin
when the mourners went in the next day the found the dead man had been proped up in the coffin and the bums had put a beer bottle in one hand and a cigeratte in the other hand.
appartly the widow still has nightmares about seeing her husband like that in his coffin.
i think it is mad, bad wrong but also funny what do you think?

My birthday is Next week and my parents said I can have 4 friends over and well picking the friends wasn't the hard part but you see my mom said I won't beable to like have cool games and the things you give out after the party (party savors or whatever) any ways what should I do then. Or have people just added their own parts to it (like permitting slavery, ordering death for women (but not men) who commit adultury and saying it's abomonation to eat shelfish and pork)?

Where did "the holy bible" come from anyway? Wasn't it just put together during the days of the roman empire as a way of codifying the different beliefs of many different sects? Isn't it true that many books were included or rejected based on the votes of scholars of the day?
