in dundalk ireland a man left instrutions that when he died that he was to spend 1 night of his wake in the church {in his coffin of course}
2 bums went into the church that night and opened the coffin
when the mourners went in the next day the found the dead man had been proped up in the coffin and the bums had put a beer bottle in one hand and a cigeratte in the other hand.
appartly the widow still has nightmares about seeing her husband like that in his coffin.
i think it is mad, bad wrong but also funny what do you think?

Well, I have a great sense of humour. If this happened to my man I'd probably laugh when I first saw him. I would let it help me deal with the pain of him being dead. And I'd find my other friends with the same sense of humour and show them and then we could all laugh about it. He would want it that way. Hell, I might leave him like that for the funeral. You've gotta look at the positive in every situation.

To me it is funny
It would depend on if that was the kind of guy he was, and if the "perps" were good friends who were "bending the elbow" in his memory and just got carried away with the last party!
I am sorry the widow was traumatized. I'm sure most here would be horrified.

I think it's disgusting, disrespectful, and disgraceful, there has to be some boundaries in an otherwise civilized world. There is a time and place for everything, and clearly this was not the time nor the place.

If you cant have a sence of humor about the dead, what can you have a sence of humor about? Death is a time to forget regret and pain, and be glad that our loved one has passed to a better place...(hopefully)
